Is it too late? The world is overrun by the infectious walking dead seeking living flesh...

The Breathing Dead, a zombie tale, follows Karen, Jane, Sam and House fighting for survival in Farmore. In a world where being dead no longer means the end, time is running out for the human race.

I'm not sure if it was the narrator or the author, but the plot was very hard to follow. I couldn't tell where the change of scenes took place, so I was never sure what was happening to whom. I listened through it twice, and I'm still confused. It was wonderfully descriptive for a zombie book and each scene had plenty of chilling encouters with the undead. But as I couldn't follow who was who or where they were, it was more like a series of Zombie encounter vinettes rather than a cohesive whole.

Too Hard to Follow

This booked sucked on so many levels. So many examples could I give. Ok, here's one: a British writer trying to set his work in the U.S. We don't have lorries here, we call them trucks. The descriptions of the military were horrible...the entire work felt like the author did not care to do any research before writing to make the work at least a little realistic and believable. And then there was the story. The plot and story line sucked too. It felt like, at times, the characters were actually trying to get themselves killed just to get out of the book.

Sucked

Didn't care for the reader and the way he did the voices. Also, it was like he was quickly reading a script, absolutely no pauses. Was hard to determine when a new scene starts or ends, takes a few sentences to determine a new scene has begun. Also, I know this is a short story but way to much was trying to be covered to do any of it justice. It should have covered a smaller plot; it was like an extremely abridged novel where everything was edited out except the barebone outline of the story. The storytelling itself was awful, the reading was even worse. I think they were going for fast paced and suspenseful, it was just annoying to hear and difficult to visualize the scenes with the constant stream of narration that gave no clue that the entire scene has just changed to a completely different environment.

Waste of money
