The level of real life detail that went into researching events of this story.

The story was easy to follow from the battlefield to the concentration camps. Having it be a true story that of the Author’s Father made everything seem so real. I had trouble keeping my composure when telling my wife what it was about. I could feel both the pain and excitement of the characters involved.

I have been listening to book for years and have never reviewed a book. After this listen I felt compelled.

Amazing historical book that should be required reading for all high schoolers

One of the best books I have ever read. Beautifully written and narrated, highlighting the American and Jewish bravery and tragedy. The men will live on in the memory of all who knew them, and all who read this amazing book.

Stories Gave Meaning to Statistics

Of all the historical volumes I’ve read and enjoyed, this one stood out. The personal stories revealed gave humanity to the statistics.
