I loved this book I felt like I was there.

Excellent story about life as a slave from the eyes of a grandma who wants the best for her family..Detail description that makes you feel like your there on the plantation with your ancestors experiencing the struggle and life as a slave. George is a survivor of a young lady who was raped and died during delivery. her son a blessed son named George. Very detailed heartfelt story from a young black woman's eyes..The story about the young lady who died because spiritually she couldn't take not another day and she got her wish to be with the Lord. But grandma was always trying to encourage them to have faith no matter what. But sometimes the heart gets tired and no longer wants to try anymore. This story is relevant to woman in this day and age as well that are tired and worn down and want to give up.Big Moma is there when nobody is there to say baby I got you don't give up.I definitely loved and I recommend this book to everyone.i loved this book.

I love the story it was very inspiring.

This is a great book written by my beloved member of KOGMI,Keisha Kesha Jones . Being born in the south in the early sixties causes me to remember some of the struggles my mother father sister and brothers went through. I was young and didn't really see what was going on in front of me but as I got older my older brothers made it clear of what I witnessed. My grandparents we're strong people. My grandfather was a sharecropper strong in stature and lots of character. I appreciate this book. What it does for me is remind me that no matter the circumstances I find myself. Wherever I am on the economic social scale of life I can always achieve better and do more. No man on this Earth controls my destiny no One controls how high I can go thank God for America thank God for the struggle thank God that I am not a victim. Well done Kesha Jones
