Publisher's Summary

I was happy with my life. Okay, it wasn't perfect, but I had a mom, dad, and brother that I loved, a best friend - with benefits - and a decent job that paid enough for me to take care of my responsibilities. Then, he walked in to my life, and everything changed.

When handsome billionaire Jal Lindstrom enters a high-end Philadelphia hair salon, he finds himself under the care of 21 year-old Allie Dodds, a sharp, intelligent woman who doesn't seem impressed by his wealth or position.

Intrigued, Jal expertly manipulates events to ensure they meet again, even though obligations to his family make things complicated. Complications, such as getting a ring on the finger of a Philadelphia socialite his mother wants him to marry.

Torn between their hearts and their families, Jal and Allie have more in common than they know, but a single secret can destroy everything before it's even begun.

Great Story

Loved the story but the narration was poor. Would have enjoyed it more if someone else had read the book.

The billionaires Mistress

this was a good sires! I believe it was 5 book placed all together. It reads as one whole book, so i am not to sure on how many books it is total. I was to envoled in the story.
The story is great. I love the story line of I really am not in love with this person, I want to marry this person, but for some reason or anther I can’t.
This story has a ton of twists and turns. its not straight forward as you would think. it totally makes it interesting!
I would love to spell the plot line, I am not big on giving spoilers. but i will say it does seem that everyone is some how everyone is connected in this story. hold on tight, because things are about to get interesting!
I loved the character development! but ne thing i was not happy with was the Narrator. I found that odd, because she is the writer of the book! But sadly it was more like she was just reading the story. it was VERY hard to tell who was saying what. or what character was even talking. such a bummer. it is a good book, I am just not happy with the narration.

I was gratefully provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator for an unbiased review via Audio Boo

Narrator

The narrator (author) sounds like a robot. Can’t go past the first few minutes. Big mistake on that choice.

some defects but mostly good story

As anticipated, Parker provided a story filled with ups, downs, and some steam. Loved the diversity of characters, sometimes wanting to smack them, sometimes wanting to hug them. I tried listening to this one via Audible and ran into a few issues with 'out of place chapters' around the 4th & 5th book, so I may have missed a chapter or two. I ended up reading the last few chapters on my reader. I appreciated the way Parker wraps things up for us.

Everything

Happens to this couple. In and out of the relationship, in every way it can be complicated. To the point that one would wish the author just get on with the story of two strangers ultimately in love. And I wish the wedding/lack of honeymoon/first baby were more fully developed.

Editing

I enjoyed the series. But, the editing was terrible. Repeated chapters. And needed better proofing.

very much tamer than her usual novels

but just as riveting in telling a tale that ends in a HEA. Be sure you are ready to make quite a few hours available, over several days, until you can weep over the final scenes. Bravo, M. S.

Missing chapters

Toward book5, there were some chapters that repeated. So I missed a few chapters because I had to go to the next chapter.

Couldnt even make through chapter 2

Please have someone else perform the book. It wasnt just the voice but the choppy reading made it a no go for me.

Poor narration

I was really disappointed with the narration on this audible book - monotone and hard to differentiate when different characters were speaking. Basis of the story is good and would have been a strong book with different narration. Also issues with duplicate chapters being repeated at random stages and this added to confusion when listening. A pity cos I enjoy books from this writer but underwhelmed by this effort.

How awful???

I can't tell you how bad the narration is, monosyllabic which made me skip to the end . What a pity when there are so many great narrators out there.
Give this a miss.

Very poor narration and repeated chapters in the last book

I’m not at all happy with this purchase. MS Parker must not narrate any more of her books. Leave that job for the professionals please. Your writings are so much better than your narration.

The narrator was really poor

Listening to the narrator really put me off the book. Think I wasted my money on the audio. Should have bought the book instead as most say it was better than the audio. SORRY...
