Publisher's Summary

She needs a green card. He’s protecting his wounded heart.

A swoon-worthy, heart-warming, marriage-of-convenience romance from the best-selling author of the Make-Believe series.

When Australian chef, Eve Partridge, loses her visa, and with it the chance at the dream job she’s been working toward her whole career, she’s desperate to find a way to stay in the USA. Her only goal is to get a green card, so she can push her way back into the New York restaurant scene and finally get the chance to be head chef at one of the top restaurants in the city.

Billionaire entrepreneur, John Russo’s wounded heart has kept him isolated and alone for so many years he no longer remembers how it feels to connect with a woman, and that’s just fine by him. He has no intention of falling in love ever again. But the isolation is getting to him, and he longs for someone to share his life with.

An email-order bride arrangement seems like the perfect solution to both their problems.

The one thing they didn’t count on was falling in love.

When tragedy pulls them apart, they’ll have a decision to make: will they choose to give love a chance or will ambition rule their hearts?

A delightful romance about following your heart, discovering your best self, and choosing love. Perfect for fans of Inglath Cooper, Robyn Carr, and Debbie Macomber.

Really Liked This One!

John Russo is a lonely man and would like nothing more than to come home to someone after a long day at work, however his heart has been broken once so he is not looking for love. What he wants is a marriage of convenience. Eve Partridge is in a bind. She has lost her work visa and needs to find a way to fulfill her dream of staying in America to run her own restaurant as head chef. The Email Order Bride Agency seems to be the solution to them both so they sign a contract to be husband and wife for a year. Things become complicated when they start to fall in love with each other but don’t admit it to the other. There are some ups and downs and twists that make the story interesting. I really enjoyed this one and found it difficult to put down until the end. Amanda Stribling did a wonderful job with all the voices and accents and brought the story to life and made it quite enjoyable.

Decisions and Choices

Vivi Holt wrote another wonderful book in The Billionaire’s Email-Order Bride. I love how this book is both a standalone listen and part of a series. The storyline is clean, original and kept me engaged. The characters are flawed, yet endearing. The narration by Amanda Stribling is perfect. She brings them to life with her voice. I loved her accents in this book too! I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

A Sweet, Clean, Pleasant listen

I loved this modern day email bride story. It's been too long since I've read/listened to an mail order bride story. This was well written with a great storyline and wonderful characters. It was a slow burn, even after marriage, romance. Sweet, clean, and a pleasant listen. Predictable, but refreshing after darker reads.

Amanda Stribling was the perfect narrator for this book. Her voice is smooth and relaxing, just like the characters. Her performance was excellent as she does male and female voices well. I know she brought this book to life.

It was ok

I think this book started out great, but then kinda dragged towards the end. The female lead seemed a little wishy-washy and couldn’t make up her mind. Other than that, I enjoyed it.
Narration was on point!

Main female lead fail

New to this genre...however this is the 4th book I’ve read/listened to. I enjoyed Ms Holt other books, but found this tale dragging and became very annoyed with the main female lead. The only reason I finished it was because I thoroughly enjoy Ms Stribling narration

A sweet story of love and convenience

Both Eva and John need to marry someone, so why not find each other through an e-mail dating service? The finding each other was easy, the staying together is the hard part.

This light, sweet read is a classic Vivi Holt contemporary story. I love books like these that Vivi writes to let me decompress from my stress-filled days. Amanda Stribling tackles many different accents well and kept the story fun!

I was given this review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

In Aid of My Career

I always enjoy author Vivi Holt's nimble imagination. In this story, two characters, both career-driven and finding themselves in need of a spouse, are matched by an agency; seems they each also need redemption--from their own self-imposed family hangups. The added twist includes some very long trans-Pacific flights from the US to Australia and back. Voice artist Amanda Stribling does not attempt broad Aussie (which would, frankly, be harder for most U.S. listeners to understand fully "on the fly" if listening while engaging in other activities) but gives a lovely soft twist to the vowels which approximates without exaggerating the sound. [NOTE: I am not "dissing" ANY pronunciations since regional differences make for delightful variety and help identify and define.] A fun story!

Great narration, stand alone story

I thought the story was cute, though I had a little trouble connecting with the characters and getting into the story. I would probably have given it 3.5 stars just because I've listened to other stuff by Vivi Holt recently that I liked better. I'd recommend this story to listeners looking for a clean romance that develops at a reasonable pace with some ups and downs and an HEA.

Amanda Stribling did a fabulous job with the narration.

Journey to Love

Eve loses her visa and her dream job and needs money to stay in the country until the error is fixed. John is looking for a companion because he has given up on love. This book takes you on the journey of their relationship and how keeping quiet can lead to you losing something that you are not ready to give up.

Email-Order Bride

Marriage of convenience/mail order brides is one of my favorite tropes. This book was the perfect in between length with solid characters and a well written story line. A very clean Hallmark"esque" story.

A billion worth of a listen

Book 2 in the series I have listened to a few Vivi the authors stories . She writes down to earth stories that are full of love , but with a bit of the way things use to happen. Vivi has strong clean hero’s and heroine. Both John and Eve are perfect for each other. They both save each other , John needs a wife to make his life whole. Eve needs to wed to stay in the country , she needs a Green Card .

Amanda performance was great . She did the story with feeling, voice is strong, clear and strong .

Thank you Audio Book Obession for a great listen

I enjoyed John and Eve's story! Can't wait for book 3. I love the storyline and the characters are well developed. Bring on book 3!

Worst attempt at an accent

The main character is from Australia but the narrator CANNOT do an Australian accent. It was painful to listen to, and really impacted the enjoyment of the book.
