When you feel invisible, friendship can offer a ray of hope.
Sometimes it’s the things we don’t say that we need others to hear the loudest....
Izzy has always taken everything in her stride, but motherhood is proving more difficult than she thought. She keeps telling herself it’s just a phase, but the dark clouds are starting to appear.
Neighbour and widower Arthur might be in the winter of his life, but he’s not ready to be packed off to a care home. He’s determined to do things his way.
When Izzy hears about Arthur’s big move, she offers to help. But Arthur isn’t telling her the whole story. It takes courage to admit you need a friend, and when you feel invisible, all you need is a ray of hope. After all, what if the best is yet to come?

Reseñas de la Crítica
"A gorgeous warm novel about finding hope and friendship in the most unexpected places." (Paige Toon, The Minute I Saw You)
"A heartwarming story that reels you in from the first page - a story of friendship and community with two unforgettable characters." (Lynsey James, The Single Dad’s Handbook)
"A special book about love and friendship that will touch your heart." (Alex Brown, A Postcard from Italy)
The realism of the inner and private experiences of both main characters are immaculate. The author speaks so authentically of both postpartum depression (and general adjustment to motherhood) and grief after the passing of a partner. Despite trigger warnings for these experiences as well as suicidal ideation, I think the thoughtful title of the book allows you to experience the full emotional expanse of the book with a sense of safety. You also can't help but fall in love with the warmth of the relationship between the two main characters.
So we'll done. Also, the narrator was a perfect fit.
So well done 4.5/5 🌟
