The problem most of us have with the Bible is that we started out studying the details without ever getting the big picture. It's no wonder we're confused! In the Colorado Rockies, there are so many mountain peaks, nobody could climb them all. But there are 53 peaks that are over 14,000 feet. And many hikers try to climb all 53 fourteeners. That's what Max Anders does in this Bible study. You'll look at only the fourteeners - a manageable amount of information.

This beginner guide includes a detailed description of the Bible and how to apply its teachings to your everyday life.
In this book, we hope to help you connect with God on a more personal level by enhancing your knowledge of the Bible, scriptures, prayer, and worship. Learn the history of the origin and composition of the Bible, how the Bible was formed, and what the great influences of the times were that propagated change. View a short synopsis of the Old and New Testament, and 10 scripture stories that are necessary for the understanding of Christianity.
We have listed the chapters and books of the Bible chronologically, so that if someone wanted to study the Bible in order according to when it was lived, instead of when it has been listed in the table of contents of the Holy Bible, there is the opportunity to do so. Studying the Bible chronologically can help one make sense of the ever changing tableau when reading Kings and Chronicles.
You will learn differing methods of Bible study, and proposed memorization of scripture. We have recommended tried and true methods for adult learning of scriptures. There is also a section on the importance of prayer and corporate worship. There are suggestions for a typical prayer and how to look for a home church or fellowship.
Included is an index of helpful scriptures to reference in times of personal trials and tribulations. Memorizing these scriptures can offer a great comfort to one who is worried or at the end of their rope.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

The secret to happiness is to acknowledge and transform suffering, not to run away from it. Here, Thich Nhat Hanh offers practices and inspiration transforming suffering and finding true joy. Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

That's what Max Anders does in this Bible study. You'll look at only the fourteeners - a manageable amount of information.

“Break Through the Language Barrier, Expand Your Understanding” The Amplified Bible is a Literal Equivalent translation that, by using synonyms and definitions, both explains and expands the meaning of words in the text. This unique system of translation allows the reader to more completely and clearly grasp the meaning as it was understood in the original Hebrew and Greek languages. For example, the Greek word pisteuo, which the vast majority of versions render as “believe.” That simple translation, however, hardly does justice to the many meanings contained in the Greek pisteuo: “to adhere to, cleave to; to trust to have faith in; to rely on, to depend on.”
