Publisher's Summary

Some legends never die....

The White Wolf, the Beast of Brenton Woods, a legendary creature said to walk like a man. When the full moon rises, it will feast.

Unseen for years, truth has turned to rumor, mere folklore. Until something lures the monster from exile, calling it home.

For Tyler and Ben, a firsthand encounter leads to an exploration of the forbidden depths of Brenton woods, and for Ben, the discovery of a family secret.

When Wendy and her friend's hangout in the abandoned cabin is compromised, the hunt begins. The target of a creature's desire, Wendy is hearing whispers in the night, finding footprints outside her window, and can't shake the dreadful feeling that something is waiting for her.

Deputy Kathy Wilcox understands the disturbances, the shredded carcasses, and the growing list of missing persons in town are connected to something larger than life. Will her acceptance of the legend end in tragedy?

There's a full moon above, the night is coming down, and blood is about to run.

An enjoyable werewolf tale!

I'm always on the look out for a good werewolf read, and this one satisfied my thirst ;)

The pacing of the plot was fast enough because we basically had a bloody death every few chapters, and the plot itself was entertaining. Brenton Woods has seen tragedy before, but things went quiet for a few years so the locals thought their problem was solved, but a white form has been seen in the woods, and bodies are starting to appear just like the last time. The people who remember know that the Beast is back, and it's hell bent on revenge.

I pretty much enjoyed everything about this book. It was an easy read, and held my attention till the very end. The deaths are bloody and the werewolf is savage, which is as it should be!! I listened to this over the course of a single day and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm hoping there is another one because the ending left it so there could be! I'd enjoy coming back to Brenton Woods.

In all, an enjoyable, gory, werewolf tale and one I know I'll read again.

Joe Hempel is one of my go to narrators for Horror. He knows how to perform a book and make a story come alive. He has a wide array of tones and voices and always gives a great performance.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Good until the end

The ending ruined the book for me. Seriously, how can a person be so stupid. Then again, the character made dumb and irresponsible decisions throughout the book which caused people to lose their lives. I don't want to give anything away. So, I'll just say that there was another person who knew what happened to Wendy but apparently didn't say anything which leads to the ridiculous ending. Then there is also the bombshell that Susan dropped at the end which should have been explained in more depth. Why would her husband do that? What hold did Arthur have on them?
Mr. Hempel was awesome as usual. He has such a wonderful voice.

Fast paced and gory!

A big thank you to Alien Agenda Pub for providing me with an Audiobook of this, in exchange for an honest review.

I'm on the lookout for more and more Werewolf or create-feature novels this year, so when I saw there was an opportunity to review this one I snapped it up!

This book is super-fast paced, and as it is quite short (176-pages or 4hr47 on Audio), does a good job of plunging the reader straight into the gory action.

There are quite a lot of characters to keep up with, some more memorable than others, which meant a couple of times I had to hit the *rewind 30 seconds* button, but that only happened a couple of times and it wasn’t a big deal because the characters had their own voices. The characters are realistic and mostly likeable, except for those you just love to hate.

I listened to the narration of this by Joe Hempel, who does a great job, I didn’t realise just how many books he has narrated and now I need more! I listened to this on speed 1.5x.

3.5 stars!
