Just WOW!

The Beast Gets His Cowgirl in the Show Me State is great! The storyline is sweet, unique, grabbed me and kept me entertained. I love the characters in this series. Not only are they fun and interesting, but I enjoy seeing them pop up in other books. The performer is incredibly talented and is my favorite narrator to listen to. He has an amazing gift and he blew my mind with this book with the accents of the various characters. Another great book for the dynamic duo of Gussman/Dyess.

Madeline is Spot On!

Jay Dyess performance is amazing. He handles a British accent for Madeline, and it's spot on with her sassiness and spunk. He's also hilarious in his performance of the kids voices. I loved it when the older kids said, "Is she dead?" He does another duet singing spot which I love, and the overall affect is perfect for this beloved book. I love this book, having read it previously, but the audio brings the story to life and makes it into magic as only the duo of Jessie Gussman and Jay Dyess can do.

British Beauty meets ‘Loyal’ Beast

Story: 5 stars I love Beauty and the Beast tropes and this one is wonderful! Loyal has such heartbreak in his past and terrible scars, both externally and in his soul. Madeline comes along and brings joy and light back into his life. But she has an issue of her own weighing on her. Both of them question why God allows bad things to happen to good people and there’s a lot of introspection as their love for one another unfolds. There are some wonderful character arcs in this story! Their love story was full of sweet and caring interactions and a HEA. Narration: 5 stars I only give 5 stars to narrators who can do accents and I feel that Jay Dyess' NY accent for Stella was spot on! As was his Australian accent. Children's voices are difficult to do and his little girl lisp was adorable! Lastly, Madeline’s accent: this was a tall order because the character has lived in the States for a good portion of her life. I felt that he did a good job! Madeline’s accent was consistent throughout the narration. The other ingredient for 5 stars from me is when a narrator truly touches your emotions through his/her voice acting. When Loyal finally opens up and tells the story of the fire that burned him and killed his baby son, I literally had tears in my eyes. Jay's voice was filled with raw pain and you could hear Loyal's heartache and helplessness in Mr. Dyess' voice. This narrator just keeps on getting better! (And he can sing!) *poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special

Great Read

I loved this book. I got the audiobook to review but also got a kindle copy. Madeline and Loyal both have secrets. She can't cook despite being a celebrity chef. I loved how her relationship with Loyal and how it evolved through the book. Both of them wanting to be the best for each other. A beautiful story

Heartwarming & funny...but SO MUCH MORE!!!

Loyal was living up to his name the night that a fire swept through his home. Despite all the heroic effort he expended to save those who were most precious to him, his life was reduced to ashes that night. He lost such a huge part of himself that he no longer had the ability to let anyone into his life. That is until Madeline arrives with her quirky ways & her ability to see so far beyond his scars that she is able to reach into his inner self and restore parts that have been missing for far too long. With secrets of her own, Madeline is still able to touch those around her and enable them to see beyond where they have been trapped and begin to live life again. As with all in the series (and others by this author), a willingness to do the hard work, a commitment to doing the right thing, and unshakable love for family are the bedrock that the plot is built on. There is enough tender romance to capture the heart without needing the graphic stimulation best left behind closed doors. Jay has again astounded me with his talent for narration. Not only has he created believable accents for the UK & Australian characters, but he is comfortable enough with them to seamlessly switch from person to person without a hesitation or lag. He is able to convey the emotion of even the kid's parts, helping us to see things through their eyes.

Fantastic story and performance!

This is a fantastic story with a unique storyline. A celebrity chef who can’t cook? Madeline is hiding this big secret as she succeeds with her cooking show. Loyal has trust issues that he hasn’t overcome and his daughter is very afraid of him. Madeline thinks she can help. How will it all play out? The performance by Jay Dyess is exceptional! He performs a woman with a British accent wonderfully and each character is unique! And he even sings! I can’t say enough good about this audiobook!

Love made the difference

I’m not sure how Jessie keeps coming up with such great stories that are intertwined yet each unique and fun. Loyal had been severely burned when his home caught on fire,he was able to save his young daughter but not his baby son. That and his wife’s betrayal and his little girl’s emotional scarring and not wanting to be near him made him hide away. Madeline was a beautiful English woman with an extremely highly rated cooking show. When the show contracted with Loyal to use his house as a backdrop for the show, Madeline stirred his soul in a way that he thought was dead. But Madeline had a BIG secret nobody could ever know or her whole career would be washed up.

Another fun book

Hilarious just how incompetent Madeline was in the kitchen despite her fame as a celebrity chef. Loved how she was able to reconnect Loyal with his daughter.

Hey super hit by the great duo Gussman and Dias Ka

After loyalsBrother get some roped in to a cooking show coming into his lavish home, he is kind of happy about that as his daughter Patty loves to cook and at the moment he is estranged from her. Thoughts of her crying the last time he saw her holding his memory. So when Maddie shows up not only does he feel an instant connection with her but she happily agreed to help him with his daughter. That’s only if Patty‘s mother Lisa allows it. Maddie is more than happy to help the sexy man with the scarred face, She just hopes at first for her sake that her secret doesn’t get out by the end she hope it doesn’t get out for the sake of the man she’s come to love his daughter who she is also fond of. This book was so good when I read the Kindle book I thought it was awesome, but with Jay doing the narration and making Mary’s voice British as it supposed to be with such a great addition as his acting skills usually are. He can make a bland day full of sun shine and I believe if he saying the alphabet there a mini jessie Gussman fans that would pay to listen, me being one of them. I highly recommend this book it is sweet and clean and can be read as a standalone although the other books of justice great and then a couple of audios J even sings between Jessie and Jay all the talent they have is amazing and a blessing.

A lovely clean, sweet, Christian romance, with all the heart one would expect from Jessie Gussman.

Beautiful, quirky celebrity chef, Madeline Reese, has a secret that has suddenly become too difficult to keep. This dilemma puts her in the path of damaged, broody rancher, Loyal Hudson, with a heartbreaking past. Can they help each other deal with their painful pasts and the secrets they’re keeping? The audiobook is narrated by Jay Dyess, and was a pleasure to listen to. I received a free copy of this audiobook, and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
