Holy Reasonlng Impowering Virtues

Understanding the dangers of vice is paramount to living a fulfilling life. Destructive behaviors often appear tempting on the surface but ultimately lead to ruin. Cultivating Christ empowered virtues provides a strong defense against the deadly vices. By embracing the virtues, we gain the strength to resist temptation. True victory lies in surrendering our will to Jesus and choosing the path of virtue leading to holiness and eternal life.

..Okay.. Just don't do it, apparently

Essentially the author's advice is: Just don't do the thing, and you'll be fine. If you don't want to be greedy, then just be the opposite of greedy. If you don't want to lust, then be the opposite of lust. Also, don't enjoy anything for pleasures sake, or else it's bad. This book literally tells you to only eat a little and walk away still hungry, and implies eating until you aren't is sinful. I'm a Christian, so this is not some secular rant, but this book essentially is telling you to enjoy nothing, take only just enough to survive, eat bland food and only have sex to make babies (but try not to enjoy it too much), and then pray and die. Thanks! Next time I'm falling to sin I'll just stop by thinking of the opposite thing.. If you wanna stop drinking then just don't drink! If you don't wanna look at pornography, then just think about virtue then presto! Thanks for the deep insights.. you can tell this was written by a Catholic.
