Kate Mulgrew does a terrific job

This is a wonderful fictional biography of Kathryn Janeway and a nice overview of the Voyager series. It's very well done, except there are a few glaring mistakes. First, Indiana is not on the plains. I laughed out loud when Katherine describes a thunderstorm coming across the plains. You would think such a professional book and audiobook going through so many editors, someone would have checked the geography of Indiana, which is definitely not the plains. So that was ridiculous. Also, other areas she mentions on Earth are also incorrect, Ireland for example, and the phrase doesn't mean what the authors of this book means. I laughed again and wondered why the author nor the editors didn't check these things to make sure they were correct. However, overall, it was a good book and if you like Voyager you will like it if you can forgive the author for not knowing about Indiana or Ireland or doing any Googling about those places.

Worth the journey

An interesting and moving look at the life of the beloved Captain Janeway. Overall I enjoyed the story but, sometimes found the it out of balance - too many details here, not enough details there. In some cases, whole topics I had hoped to know more about were left out. And, I didn’t love the path that some people’s lives took in the end - I’m a romance fan, I wanted them all to end up with someone, and I wanted more details of their lives after Voyager returned home. But, the multitude of stories granting an internal view of the life and heart of Katheryn Janeway, and finally learning more about what happened to the crew after they returned home, was worth the time, worth the journey.
I especially loved Kate Mulgrew’s narration, which so richly brought the story to life. I recommend this audiobook to anyone who is a fan of Janeway, and Star Trek Voyager.

Wowed.

I didn’t expect to enjoy her Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway as much as I did. The last three quarters of the novel is Voyager from an older Janeway’s POV. It was marvelous!!! I found myself rewatching a lot of the episodes that were mentioned. Kate Mulgrew really sold this too. Her reprisal of the character was perfect.

Voyager' captain Janeway had one hell of a ride

The narrator was pretty good too and I could not imagine it read by anyone else but, what's her name? Kate - someone - I'm sorry I'm terrible with names, MuGirl, Mugire? I'll definitely re-listen to the book about space, the last frontier with the Star Ship Discovery, no no, the Star Ship Voniget, Vonigut?

Wow

I do not doubt the power of art. This book brought me to tears. I am a Star Trek child and a large part of me sees all these characters as real people in my life. I am not deranged, I know the difference. But this book and the wonderful delivery at truly believable. A joy.

A Real Treat

Mulgrew's narration is perfect, as only an actor who has inhabited a character for years can be. The book itself provides context and resolution to the events of the series, also getting into the long-term effects of the events of the series--something serial television doesn't do well. Deeply enjoyable; will probably be a repeat listen.

Captain's Logs

Captain's logs could have been used instead of "memories" to shed light on
Captain Janeway's command.
An independent "journalist" should have ghost written or co-written her early life and military career.
Both of these devices would have allowed for in-depth and relevant additions to Janeway's journey.
If this was a salute to Voyager on 20th anniversary I think Seven would have said it was a small one.

a fun read for Trek fans

A fun story, well told, true to canon (atleast I didn't notice any 'errors'). enjoyed the read by Janeway herself, Kate Mulgrew.

A must for Star Trek fans

Captain Janeway is marvelous. Loved hearing about her childhood, the academy and her early career. It’s just a pleasure to listen too.
