Publisher's summary

An ancient organization more powerful than the federal government has targeted Washington. They'll stop at nothing to destroy the republic and raise an empire. The adventure begins with a mysterious military burial at Arlington National Cemetery and a shocking legacy that has explosive implications for America's existence.

Archaeologist Conrad Yeats discovers in his father's tombstone the key to a centuries-old warning built into the very design of Washington, D.C. Major monuments along the National Mall are astronomically aligned and are about to "lock" with the stars at a date foreseen by the Founding Fathers.

Along with Serena Serghetti, a beautiful Vatican linguist with secrets of her own, Yeats explores the hidden world beneath the capital in a deadly race to save it. America has a date with destiny, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Be aware this is a trilogy!

I bought this because I listen to almost anything Scott Brick reads; he can make melting ice sound interesting. But this book tested me - I didn't know this was the second of a trilogy and unless you have read the first book you may be lost - I had to check to make sure I had the unabridged edition, because there are so many references to the first that this is not a standalone read. Scott Brick is still great, though!

Unbelieavable... But

This is a 5-star book to which I gave only 3. I did so because Thomas Greanias (who I believe to have written a better story than Dan Brown's "the Da Vinci Code") published this book prematurely in order to make extra money. . I say that because while reading "The Atlantis Prophesy" does not require reading "Raising Atlantis" (unless you're intrigued about the prior history of Conrad Yeats' love affair with Serena Serghetti and want more background information on his father) it absolutely requires reading what should have been Part-Two of this book, "The Atlantis Rvelation." In fact, when you buy this book, do so knowing that you will end up unfulfilled and, as I am, in dire need of reading "Part 2.") What makes this more annoying is that this is the first time I have ever heard a narrator promote the fact that reading the third book which he then names and says is near completion [as is 2008]. Speaking of the narrator; I believe the Atlantis Prophesy to be Scott Brick's best performance and he's already, and justifiable so, risen to narrator super-star status.

Great Listen

The combination of history and current science in both these books are excellent. You have to read the first book as well to get a good story flow. I cannot wait for the next story where Conrad and Mother Earth have a go at it again. Good use of facts to make the stories almost believable. Scott Brick is excellent as usual and must be one of the best narrators I have heard.

Great Story!

This book followed the series, but was also a good story unto itself. It was entertaining, and fun. I have a long commute, like to listen to action stories on the way. This is a good one. I bought it as soon as I finished the first. If you have read the first one and enjoyed it, you should enjoy this one also.

I just Adore a Good Beginning

Thomas is a great writer. I have also read the sequal and it is great. He writes very well and that is important to me. Thomas actually writes with real characters and a real plot and story line. There isn't any throwing stuff into the story at odd times. The 2 books have great flow, and introduce you to information at the correct time. He doesn't leave you hanging and explains things as they appear; leaving only a few unanswered themes that just really make a great story and author. I read more than 2 novels a month and I am awaiting another from this author.

thrilling to the end

History is intriguing. American history full of heroism and mystery. Power and the powerful often demonized but necessary to achieve greatness.Throw in Atlantis and the Masonic unknowns, the author weaves an almost believable story of near destruction of the government of America. Hold on for a wild ride from the tunnels and caverns underneath the Capitol to the pinnacle of the Washington monument. Full of escapes similar to James Bond and more life or death encounters.
You shouldn't miss this one if you like The DaVinci Code.

Great story

A really interesting story, well crafted. Dan Brown eat your heart out.

Brick is a talented narrator, but he really made the sexy sister Serena Serghetti sound like a butch Darwin dock worker. At times it was painful to listen too. The worst female Australian voice i have heard.

The Great Adventure Continues

I'm so glad that I found this series when the first three books were already published. I hate to wait for the "next book."

The story is great and the narration is wonderful. I can't ask for anything more in a book or series.
