Publisher's summary

A passage of diverse heroics and distant perseverance in quest of the Golden Fleece is with transcendent narrative and canonic rhythm in the Argonautica recounted. Jason and the Argonauts, sailing from Iolcos on the Argo, pass into the Euxine, or Black Sea, on their voyage to Colchis at the eastern end of the sea. F L Light's translation re-embodies the motive energy of metric Apollonius in this epic of golden probation in endurance and dispatch.

terrible recording, one of the poorest stories of antiquity

The story basically is about a guy called Jason and his crew looking for the golden fleece and making a lot of sacrifices and libations on the way, also hanging out with girls at times. It resembles a story of a frat boy named Jason and his bros doing some frat activity involving festivities and sorority girls in an Ancient Greek manner. Other than that, I really couldn't keep track of the story because the chapters are divided in a way unbearable. For example, one of the crew members is going to make a prophecy at some point, and each paragraph is split as a separate chapter so that the narrative is cut often with the "prophecy number something" announcement.

Apart from the dullness of the story, the recording is terrible. Sizzling persists through 2/3 of the story and sound quality is that of an old Nokia phone. The narrative also is pretty bad for the first half where everything is read with little intonation and with little regards to the voices of different characters, which gets better after the first half

Overall, don't waste your time and money on an uninteresting story poorly adapted to Audible.

tedious translation

I don't know if it was transliterated word for word or what but I found the sentences to be of extremely tedious syntax, making it very hard to follow
