Richard Ashton thought he was just a ringside observer of these now over-the-horizon events. Until the crippled alien lifeboat came drifting down and homed in on his sailboat. Suddenly he has his hands full of an unconscious, critically wounded, and impossibly human alien warrior who also happens to be a gorgeous female.

That's when things got interesting.

Dramatic action sequences and a plot that could have gone on for a trilogy.

I am confused by the ending. Looking it up online. Might look into other David Weber books

This was a great story but wish it would of been in a series to set the hole thing up

Fun SciFi Bash

A solid piece of fun science fiction. You can see a subtle nod to S.M. Stirlings Draka and traces that may have impacted John Ringos Posleen Series. No incredible depth but its a fun read with good heros and evil alien.

this is one of the greatest books on scifi when I first read it i could not stop once I started I did not stop till I finished it, I was very happy when it came out on audible finally .

I read this book many years ago. Remembered that I really liked it and so I listen to it again I still really like it.

Another great David Weber book!

I don’t know if this was meant to be a standalone title or not, but I was very happy with the conclusion to this book. David Weber is one of the best science-fiction writers of the last two decades in my opinion. The narrator also did a great job. The plot is flipped, compared to David Weber’s normal books. modern earth is actually the low point on the tech ladder from the main characters perspective. It is an interesting twist.

Excellent story, creative and exciting

This book had some creative and new ideas that I had not encountered before. It can be difficult to find story ideas that are not just reskinned tropes.

David Weber understands

David Weber is awesome I thoroughly enjoy everything he has written. I first read this story years ago and now enjoy it on audio. His stories are amazing and have characters with so much depth.
