Narrator Makes Listening Difficulg

The narrator is perfectly fine when she is reading the story, but when it comes to impersonating a character, she is TOO MUCH.

Anne is an absolute nuisance. If she’s not crying, shes made to sound snooty.

You know how some people on social media like to write posts With Every Word In The Sentence Having The First Letter Capitalized? Well that’s how every single character talks. It’s almost like there is a period after every single word.

Gilbert is portrayed as a babbling idiot and - there is so much to unwrap here I could write a book myself.

It’s hard to enjoy when everyone sounds snobby and idiotic, but I like the book so I deal with it.

I wish the narrator would continue her normal speaking style for several of the characters than this over exaggerated mess.

NOT Books 1-6

The most frustrating part of this book is it says it is Book 1-6, but it is not- which means you have to stop and add
Book #4 Anne of Windy Poplars (between Anne of the Island and Anne's House of Dreams) and Book #6 Anne of Ingalside (between Anne's House of Dreams and Rainbow Valley)

it is difficult to navigate as it is divided by parts vs the books and it is all “Anne of Green Gables” when you go to the beginning of the book. The book description should outline where everything is.

otherwise of course the stories are wonderful

Anne’s voice is aggravating

The reader is extremely expressive but her voices for Anne, Diana, and the younger girls sound ridiculous.

Enjoyed all Six books in one.

I enjoyed the books and the extra at the end of it too. Is there more than what I already listen to.

WORTH THE WAIT

To a reader nothing beats finding out the as the author originally meant it to be told. While this collection only has 6 of the 8 books. you can now read the whole with audible. I could not recommend it more. The ability to imagine is a precious gift for those of all ages. These books slow it to flourish. I think the books should be read in order.
Books 4 and 6 need to be purchased separately. The narrations are well done and clear.
I could not recommend this series more highly enjoy it I did

Totally audio therapy for 21st century

For someone like me who is totally mismatched to the target audience, the books were a pleasant journey into another world, another time, another ethos. I doubt most modern readers would know what a Presbyterian or Methodist is, and would wonder why such a fuss over keeping promises. My only wish is that the sections of the download would have been broken between books, not apparently randomly. I am going to guess the missing books are missing because they were written later and under some different legal status.

Love her books!

I've always loved her books. As a heads up however, the narrators are different for the books, and one was horrible and another just meh. Don't let that stop you from getting this though, just be prepared for that. I still highly recommend the books.

Anne of Green Gables is a Wonderful Story.

Wonderful story, the narration of Anne is horrible, high pitched and difficult to over look. If anyone spoke the part of Anne without over acting, in a believable voice would have made it tolerable. I can only listen to her voice for a chapter at a time

Favorite childhood book

I first read this book in the fourth grade and I absolutely loved it! The narrator does a great job reading the book! I’m so glad I got the audiobook set! Its giving me so much nostalgia to listen to the book set! I only just finished this one but I’m excited for the next even though I know what happens in that one. I would definitely recommend this book to a lot of people!!
