Publisher's summary

Small-town veterinarian, Nathan Daniels never opted to become rich. Yet, wealthy women seem to fall right out of the sky and onto his lap—all but one, that is...cattle heiress Margaret Wainwright. She’s the only woman he has ever loved, and the only one who got away. Margaret is above his station—way out of his league. It takes him years to get her out of his system; and many a woman pay the price trying to fight against Margaret’s lingering shadow. The heiress wants back into Nathan’s life. But in the 1920s Victorian South, marriage is sacred, and there are just too many social obstacles to climb.

What a pleasant Surprise!

This was my first time listening to this author and narrator, what a wonderful surprise.

The narration was done very well.

I would definitely listen to more books by this author.

This book scores a 5 star rating as it evoked more then 2 feelings while listening to this book. Just as I was extremely angry the book take a complete different direction. I am very happy that this book wasn't to predictable.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance with a happy ending.

Great Story! Great Listen🎧 4.5 Wonderful🌟Stars!🌟

This is a terrific, well written, historical fiction romance with interesting characters and storylines. The story is set in the early 1900’s and the author transports you to that time in history. The characters are well developed. The lead, Nathan Daniels, is likable and a good natured guy. He falls in love with Margaret, a girl who is out of his league. She loves him but her father has other plans for her. Broken hearted, Nathan, tries to move on with another but just can not get Margaret out of his head. Nathan serves his country in the war, is injured and he falls for Grace, the sweet nurse. No spoilers here but H.L Randall gives us a lot action, twists, drama and romance in this book. I really loved the ending, well done H.L. Randall very well done. Thanks you for the great story!

I listened to the Audible edition, Aaron Sinn does a wonderful job narrating and telling the story. He performs the voices for all the characters and brings them to life from the pages to your ears. Thank you for this enjoyable story and listen.

Nate and Margaret deserve each other

The Animal Doctor by H.L. Randall was just okay. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't get into it, but although I don't always need a HEA, Nate's connection to Margaret, who isn't a very likable person, really made this story drag for me. I felt bad for some of the secondary characters. Also, don't be fooled-Though the title is "Animal Doctor," don't expect there to be much about animals or anything like that in the book. Yes, this is Nate's profession, but this really is a story primarily based on his relationships throughout his life and mainly Margaret. If you don't feel the need to actually like the main character, then this may be a great fit for you.

Aaron Sinn did a good job narrating this story. He had unique voices for the characters and the audio quality was great. It made for an enjoyable listen and brought the characters to life.
