Publisher's summary

Through an intriguing story of parents struggling with their troubled children and with their own personal problems, The Anatomy of Peace shows how to get past the preconceived ideas and self-justifying reactions that keep us from seeing the world clearly and dealing with it effectively.

Yusuf al-Falah, an Arab, and Avi Rozen, a Jew, each lost his father at the hands of the other's ethnic cousins. As the story unfolds, we discover how they came together, how they help warring parents and children to come together, and how we too can find our way out of the struggles that weigh us down.

The choice between peace and war lies within us. As one of the characters says, "A solution to the inner war solves the outer war as well." This book offers more than hope - it shows how we can prevent the conflicts that cause so much pain in our lives and in the world.

Best book EVER!!!

This book is life changing!!! It made me ponder a lot about ALL the relationship in my life and how I can change them! I didn't really realize how much I see people as objects and not people until now and I intend to change that aspect in my life! To really listen and care about each person I love and in my life. As well as strangers who just need a smile! Love that this is a story not just a person reading how to get set help in steps. THANK YOU for an amazing book to listen to over and over again!

Truly Helpful

This was a gift and I'm so grateful! I have been struggling, as we all do with some family members and I feel so much hope in the lessons taught in this book. I am excited to get to work on the practices taught here.

Changed my thoughts with my family, my clients, et

I love that this is an audiobook, as I travel so much and reading takes me longer than others, I often buy books and don't get them read. A fellow therapist recommended this and I used a credit to buy it, I know this will change my life and the life of my clients moving forward, so grateful to the arbinger institute!

For all in the world to read!

I have read this book multiple times and have now listened to it on audible. I have given this book along with leadership and self deception to family and colleagues.
I re-read it occasionally to remind myself of how I want to live my life!
Thanks
Frank

Still learning from this book.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Anatomy of Peace to be better than the print version?

I think the audio edition to be better than the print version in all aspects but one. The audio edition has to describe the diagrams that are in the print edition. This is not a big factor if you can draw them out while listening, but a little harder while driving.

What did you like best about this story?

Like any good story this story teaches you while entertaining you. I liked how the author intertwined the lessons within the characters interactions.

What about Oliver Wyman’s performance did you like?

Oliver's voice is pleasant, and handled most of the voices well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

The lessons this book is trying to teach you can have a profound impact on you (if you are willing to really, really listen).
