Editorial reviews

E. Charles Vivian immerses the listener in his classic and adventure-filled retelling of the Robin Hood legend.

The Adventures of Robin Hood sees the swashbuckling outlaw battling the Sherriff of Nottingham and other brutal Normans in Sherwood Forest. He’s accompanied in his exploits by his "Merry Men": Little John, Will Scarlett, and Friar Tuck. The story’s lighthearted hero robs from the tax-collecting rich to feed the poor but also has time to rescue Maid Marian from an arranged marriage to the villainous Isambart de Belame.

In a light English accent, Dan Elsea performs this adventure story, and portrays its various heroes and villains, with energy and excitement.

Publisher's summary

Robin and Maid Marian, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Friar Tuck, Little John, Will Scarlet, and evil Prince John - these names have been the stuff of legend for over a thousand years. But they were scattered legends until E. Charles Vivian gathered the tales and distilled them into this novel, codifying the classic story we know today of the man who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. Follow along with the hero of Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood, to the climatic attack on the castle known as Evil Hold.

Classically good

This story was so good I listened to it over and over again. My brother didn't listen to the whole story but he got hooked. He would ask a question like, "Who is guy of gisborne?" Or he would say, "The narrator sounds really good."A good story for all ages. A must listen to.
