Thoughts

Oki so first of all I like to mention that I think people over rate most books here on Audible.

3 Stars = Pretty Good.
Now Pretty Good is Pretty Good so that's the rating I am giving for this story. Of course there are some deviations into It's okay and probably a few into It's great sadly at times it also dips into what I would like to call "Rather bad" ;) aka Not for me.

The World building part of the story is what merits 3 stars and the poor writing the 2 stars.

Now to the performance.. it is at best barely "It's okay" ;) to clarify:
1. It's hard to differentiate between characters.
2. JR Nelson doesn't refer to himself as a Narrator but a reader. <-- this makes sense to me.
(I could read books out loud to myself if I wanted to)
3. The pace of the reading seems wrong to me along with it being monotone at times and sometimes obviously emotionally false. I do not know if it is because of the writing or the self confessed reader all I know is that it feels off.
Technical Issue:
1. Listening to this book on my SanDisk Mp3 player with my Sennheiser HD 599 headphones, sound would only come from the left earphone.. - This is probably some issue having to do with Audible's software since if I listen to it straight from my stationary PC sound is piped to both earphones.

I will add to this review when finished listening, if I manage to do so that is.

*EDIT*
Yeah so 1h 15m into this book and I find it hard to keep listening to this book for all the above mentioned reasons. Adding to those is another reason that I hadn't mentioned before thinking it would be a one of thing. Sadly it seems as if that's not the case. The author seems to blithely skip over the most amazing things barely giving them a passing mention, doing so just turns the story from somewhat implausible into the realm of the absurd.-- Maybe this is what is meant by pulp?

Pulp not or What? meh I am refunding this.
