This is a story from The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes, Volume I collection.

These six cases are among the last undertaken by Sherlock Holmes before he retired to the Sussex downs. However, the problems facing the sleuth are as diverse and challenging as ever. What with seeking the whereabouts of the stolen Mazarin Diamond, discovering the importance of being called Garrideb, encountering a mysterious murder on Thor Bridge, searching for eternal youth and the threat of a vampire in Sussex, there is no sign of Holmes' deductive powers slowing down.

Reseñas editoriales

A distraught husband visits Sherlock Holmes with a tale of the supernatural. Almost at the instant he finishes sharing his woe, the great detective is dismissing as ridiculous the idea that the man’s second wife, a Peruvian woman, is a vampire, sucking the blood from their newborn. There is, instead, a bit of sibling deviltry to unravel, which involves confronting the hysterical woman. BBC radio drama stalwart and master storyteller David Timson creates elegant portraits of Holmes, his chronicler and friend Dr. Watson, and the remaining characters in this entertaining selection from the Casebook of Sherlock Holmes, Vol. 1 collection.

I am a fan of Sherlock Holmes. I enjoyed this presentation of The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire. The reading by David Timson was very good. And like most of the Holmes Detective stories, which were written for magazines, the length was perfect for a short ride, usually 25 to 45 minutes. Great presentation.
