There are two economies: a fake one consisting entirely of fake jobs that are being automated away and only exist because of the usual tape-delays and bureaucratic malfeasance; and a real economy consisting of robots and the entrepreneurs who are deploying them. What economists are doing is hewed to a type of economy that ceased to exist 150 years ago. All it's about now is letting AI take its course and figuring out how to provide welfare to the already useless 90% of the population that is now given crypto-welfare in the form of expensive and destructive jobs as professors, lawyers, law-enforcement agents, anger-management coaches, driver’s ed instructors, high school history teachers, and the like.

Brilliant work on what's really going on!
This is one of J.M. Kuczynski's best works because it points to where our society is headed when all the oil (money) dries up. It's true we operate on a real and fake economy because artificial intelligence is on the verge of taking over most jobs. I never thought about it, but it's obvious that society will have to subside on some kind of welfare because most people just are not needed. That means "fake" jobs such as anger-management coaches and history teachers! People don't want to admit what's ahead when the great extinction begins. Well done, Dr. K. Hats off. Love it when he narrates his own books too.
