Publisher's Summary

Marriage is hard enough for the everyday civilian. But imagine marriage when you're separated by thousands of miles...when one of you daily faces the dangers of combat ...while the other shoulders all the burden of homefront duties. Add to that unpredictable schedules, frequent moves, and the challenge of reintegration, and it's no wonder military marriages are under stress.

Husbands and wives in all five branches of the military need a special resource to help them navigate marriage in the midst of it all. These men and women who are giving so much for so many need a way to love one another - a way that powerfully communicates to the heart. The 5 Love Languages has a successful track record of helping military couples heal broken relationships and strengthen healthy relationships.

Now this number-one New York Times best seller has been adapted specifically for military couples. Special features of the Military Edition include:

  • Stories of military couples from every branch of service who have found ways to use the five love languages in their unique lifestyles
  • A Decoding Deployments section at the end of each love language chapter, offering tips on how to express love when you are apart
  • An updated Q&A section to include questions specific to military marriage

A new chapter, "Love Language Scramblers", explains how to speak the love languages through some of the most challenging times of a military marriage. The 5 Love Languages profile will help you and your partner identify your love languages so you can put the principles to work for you immediately. Guided by input from dozens of military couples in all stages of their careers, authors Gary Chapman and former military wife Jocelyn Green offer you an unparalleled tool for your marriage with The 5 Love Languages Military Edition.

Touches all points

My wife bought this book for me while on deployment. I bought the audio version to listen to while I work out. This is a must have for Soldiers. It will give enlightenment on how marriage becomes distant.

I should have picked up this book when my marriage was in trouble. Although it is too late now, I have gained tremendous amount of insight after listening to this book. I highly recommended this book.

The same audio book as the original.

Download both the original and the military addition. Both audio books are completely the same. The actual books are different.

Good book, okay reader

The content of this book was good. There are quite a few references to religion in it, but it wasn’t that bad. If you are not a Christian you can still get a lot of good messages from this book. The reader did a good job, but there is a distinct whistle at the end of some of his “S”es that was a bit distracting and annoying. Over all, a great message and I enjoyed listening.

I was so excited for this edition and now I’m completely disappointed

I am so disappointed when I realized the stories are practically verbatim to the original five love languages, just with military words thrown in. Which makes me feel deceived. Which stories are authentic? Were the stories in the original book true or are the ones in this version, that are the same except that this time the person is in the military. Seriously, I thought this would have genuine military stories which are truly different from normal marital relationships. I feel so sad and am truly disappointed. $13 waisted.

Great message, boring narrator

The book was amazing. The message is outstanding and worth the listen. However, it almost felt like a chore at times to finish. I have read this book and decided I would listen to it the 2nd time around. I think if I gave it a 3rd time I would choose reading.

Great book!

I enjoyed listening to the reader's voice. I've read The 5 Love Languages and found the military edition insightful. Keeping my own and other's love language has helped me with numerous relationships.

Simply amazing

Wow I have never read a book that put love into such simplicity and answer almost all of my questions. I feel I am better of now for the next relationship. Knowing what I have been doing wrong in my past relationships will definitely help curb the future relationship to one where I put in more effort.
