Excellent Read/Listen

I loved the adventure and wildly imaginative story. I loved getting to know the characters and was on pins and needles to see how the story unfolded. It was funny, incredibly creative and a joy to listen to. I’d recommend it to anyone seeking to escape reality and plunge into hours of adventure. I gave it 5 stars because I felt nothing was lacking. It was very well written and I loved all of the changing voices for each character.

Strong Writing and Character Development

Set in 2163, cryonics has finally achieved some success. The question is, will the frozen man named George come to terms with the medical and personal side of being frozen for 150 years? Everyone he knows, loved, all gone.

Thaw was written and narrated by A.C. Kabukuru. Overall, the story is well written. Strong character building along with solid world-building. The author did a great job making me care about every character in this story. The only downside is that sometimes the narrative went on too much of a tangent about a character's past.

The author also narrated this book. Unfortunately, the author's narration skills aren't as good as her writing skills. There was no consistency in character distinction which led to confusion when there were multiple characters talking. Also, it was quite apparent when the author was starting a fresh recording and when she was getting tired. Overall consistency is the main area of improvement.

Editing, quality, and production were well below par with most books I have listened to. Sound and quality were inconsistent throughout. Part of chapter six is missing. On top of that, there was a continuous static sound in the background.

Captivating story!

First and foremost this a highly engaging story that invites you to ponder some of life's big questions on life,l ove, death, immortality. I was fully invested in the lives of the characters in the story. I didn't intend to finish in one day ....but that's what happened....got my head phones and spent my day excited to hear what happens next. I am totally ready for the next installment of this series. I would definitely watch this movie!!! Such a talented writer and narrator.

Interesting and riveting

This book challenges us to think about the consequences of living forever. Author’s reading was great!

Such a great story. The psychological/ethical implications are so well developed and the characters are super endearing. I’m hooked!

Not what I was expecting, but didn't disappoint!

Wow! This story was so intriguing. Definitely makes you think about the future of medicine and how life will be in the future.

I really enjoyed listening to this story, I have never read anything like it before. How would you react to waking up in the future? Not remembering chosing to be cryogenicly frozen, and confused as to why you are alive?

I loved the way this story was told; with flash backs, multiple important characters, with great back ground stories.

If you want a different futuristic story this is for you!

Best futuristic yet modern day read!

Although this was not my usual go-to genre it was recommended to me by my son. I was NOT disappointed! The futuristic details mixed with modern day details made the reader feel the plot and situations were plausible. I was sad the book ended and hopeful for future installments!! I will def recommend. Thoroughly enjoyed!

The best Netflix series you will never read!

Wow! What a ride! I am not an avid reader! And this was amazing! I can’t wait for the next book! Do yourself a favor and listen to this book! You will not be disappointed! I loved every minute of this ride! Thanks A.C for writing something so compelling! The world was so clear and defined! I want more!

Absolutely loved it

This sifi novel has me already yearning for the second book!
l absolutely loved transporting myself into the very believable & intriguing future the author created. The descriptives throughout are thoroughly captivating & you quickly become part of this futuristic world.

The characters are well developed, unique & fascinating. I developed a strong bond with the main character and fully empathized with every decision he made. It had me
questioning my own life decisions and if I would ever want to be thawed.

I hope it gets made into a show or movie. This book was an amazing experience.
