Meet Lily Chambers—the hugely successful, book-tour loving, swoon-inducing romance writer at the pinnacle of her career. At least for now.

When Lily sent her last manuscript to her publisher, she had no idea it could be her last. Struggling with more than a terminal case of writer’s block, Lily has lost her passion. For writing. For romance. For life. How can she not feel like a fraud after being on her own for years?

Hoping to shake things loose, Lily’s BFF suggests she spend some time in one of the most romantic cities in the world: Rome. If the architecture, the history, and the food don’t inspire her, nothing will. Or it would, if Lily was able to look away from Marina Troiani, her witty, smart, and unassumingly beautiful Italian tour guide.

Marina makes Lily feel something. Finally. Slowly the words start flowing. But the age gap and continent that separates them make starting a new chapter together impossible. What’s even worse than torpedoing your career? Falling in love only to have your own HEA just out of reach.

I felt the authenticity of the dialogue between the two main characters as they began what was supposed to be a casual relationship that quickly foreshadowed something deeper and more meaningful. I was also treated to glimpses of an author’s internal dialogue as she moved through the writing process. It was two nicely crafted, interwoven plot lines. Oh, and plenty of great feels throughout! Thank you, Georgia Beers for keeping it real and so relatable!

I finally felt like the fly on the wall!

From the first page, the connection with the MC is complete and immersive. I didn’t even care about the romance for the first couple hours because I was so happy to experience the people and places. All the characters are delightful and seeing them grow was a joy. Lula Larkin is supreme for Georgia’s stories, but this one goes beyond perfect on her narration. Sit back with a good red and enjoy!

This could be her best

I love how Lula Larkin narrated this book. I totally fell for Marina based purely on her accent! I felt I could more easily relate to the Italian portion of the book because of her accent as well. The storyline was easy to listen to. The addition of the niece was important for the story but was very sweet. I enjoyed the aunt-niece special relationship. For a book to put a smile on your face leave you feeling good this one gets a definite thumbs up.
