Publisher's Summary

Hollywood's hot playboy stuntman Randall Mackey replaced the adrenaline rush of his career in the SEAL Teams with another life-courting danger, but that existence is jeopardized by injury. The sexy bad boy of Sweetgrass Springs returns to the town where his teenage exploits made him a legend, only to find that his buddy's tomboy little sister has grown up in very interesting ways. If he thinks, however, that gifted horse trainer Rissa Gallagher will simply fall into his arms and help him dodge dealing with a haunting past and a future that looks grim, Mackey might want to think again.

Rissa Gallagher has been abandoned by everyone in her family except the hard-hearted father who is physically present but cold and critical. She is the last hope for the land that has been in her family for six generations, and though Mackey is pure temptation incarnated in one very sexy package, he can never be more than a fling when the only thing he does better than make love is...leave.

Wild Hearts or Wild Horses?

I can listen to narrator, Eric G. Dove, and be transported right into the story. He brings to life, the characters in Texas Wild so effortlessly. I love how writer, Jean Brashear, brings new characters and entwines them with those from previous Texas Heroes books. I get fully invested in the new story so easily. I can feel the roller coaster of emotions and visualize their surroundings. Mackay has returned to Sweetgrass Springs. He doesn’t really have a home to go to. He did spend 6 years growing up in Sweetgrass Springs. Mackay was a Seal and currently he’s recovering from an injury from his duties as a Hollywood stuntman. Rissa is his best friends’ “little sister”, now all grown up! Rissa had a crush on him when she was a young girl, of course, Mackay never knew it. Will sparks fly between the two of them? Rissa is always quite busy working on the farm, and her father is quite a miserable man. Mackay wants her, but doesn’t plan to get involved. He can’t wait to return to Hollywood and resume his career. Both Mackay and Rissa are quite stubborn and don’t want to become “involved”. What will happen? Is there a future for them?

Randall and Rissa are a spirited pair.

Texas Wild is not for the faint of heart. Randall and Rissa are a spirited pair.  He's the runner, always searching for a new adventure.  She's the loner content to thrive on her own.  They share nothing in common, but their hearts are intent on pulling them together. Can two broken hearts find the strength to heal on the untameable Texas terrain?  Brashear and Dove are right on time when it comes to bringing to life captivating.

Mackey and Rissa

I enjoy visiting Sweetgrass Springs. You can't beat the feeling of love, family, loyalty, and safety.

Mackey and Rissa had demons to put behind them. With the support of family and friends, plus the trauma Rissa had to endure, they found success in breaking down the last barriers to their HEA.

The narration on this book was excellent. Eric Dove was able to provide each character with their own voice and personality, so that you could do nothing else but be completely engaged in the story.

I voluntarily listened to and reviewed this audio book received from the author.

Hollywood Hearthrob and Cousin Cranky Pants

I love Eric G. Dove's narration, especially when he does the children. He gets just the innocence and spunkiness that children have. Mackey is a Hollywood stuntman who comes home to Texas to recuperate from an accident. Rissa is Scarlott's cousin and prickly as a cactus. Her brother and sister left her alone to deal with the ranch and her cantakerous father. Sparks real fly between these two.

Slow start BUT GREAT Ending

Jean Brashear is a favorite author of mine. I love her works. She writes well with great storylines. The heroin in this book, Rissa, is not one of my favorites though. She does grow on me though. Mackey was a great hero and made the book. i absolutely can't wait for the next book!

Eric G Dove is a fantastic narrator. I can listen to him all day.

Mackey & Rissa

Mackey is a wanderer and thrill seeker who never felt connected to anyone or anywhere. Returning to Sweetgrass to heal was a shot in the dark and confronting his feelings makes him uncomfortable. One of those is Rissa. Her strength amazes him and his feelings for her something he never expected. Two strong people, used to taking care of everything themselves, are in for the fight of their lives. Eric G. Dove is one of my favorite narrators. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Heart throb and the Tom boy

Mackey and Rissa is one of my favorite books of Jean Brashear. Rissa was left as her brother and sister left, the father is a jerk to all the kids. To have the man she has always loved come for her and love her in the same capacity that she loves him.
Eric did an amazing job as always.

Hollywood Meets Texas!

Hollywood stuntman Randall Mackey returns to Sweetgrass Springs to recuperate from an injury and is pleasantly surprised to see his childhood friend’s little sister has grown into a gorgeous, very alluring woman. Rissa Gallagher has had a hard life, abandoned by her siblings at a young age and trying to please her ornery father all her life. Mackey is very tempting but she knows all he can be is nothing more than a fling, though she would love for it to be more. Their relationship has some ups and downs and some emotional complications. This is another wonderful story that Eric Dove does an exceptional job of narrating. I certainly have no qualms recommending any of Jean Brashear’s books!
