Publisher's Summary

When a stranger who holds the keys to her identity arrives in town, will the girl everyone knows as Brenda come to terms with her past or will she run again?

From New York Times best-selling Texas romance author Jean Brashear comes another Texas Heroes western love story set in beloved Sweetgrass Springs....

All the girl known as Brenda Jones has ever wanted is a home and family, but she's on the run from her past. She works hard and stays to herself, save only for her budding friendship with the equally shy Henry Jansen.

Henry wants more than a simple friendship, but he’s convinced she’s too young, too innocent, too sweet. Brenda has a crush on Henry, as well, but she’s underage and terrified of being put back in foster care, where she’s spent most of her life since her mother abandoned her at age eight. She’s been flying under the radar, hiding behind a made-up name while finding a different sort of family and home in the year since she arrived in Sweetgrass Springs - but that’s about to change.

When a stranger who holds the keys to her identity arrives in town and takes a job at Ruby’s Diner, will the girl everyone knows as Brenda come to terms with her past or will sherun again, away from the people and the life she's grown to love?

...a soulful tale that is not easily forgotten.

Texas Sweet reads like a puzzle waiting to be solved. All the pieces are there, but the way they fit is not as easily identifiable. Brashear and Dove are a formidable team when it comes to setting the stage for heartache. Henry and Brenda are caught up in circumstances beyond their control. Secrets surround them, heartache awaits them, yet love may be what carries them home. With a realism that is as breathtaking as the emotion it evokes, Texas Sweet is a soulful tale that is not easily forgotten.

What a "sweet" book!

I am so glad this book was narrated because, at one point, I wouldn't have been able to read due to the tears in my eyes. This is Brenda and Henry's story, finally. Thank you Eric G. Dove for doing a remarkable job of narrating. And especially thank you Ms. Brashear for writing another heart touching book. Please keep them coming.

Excellent story!

Texas Sweet, Book 18 in the Texas Heroes Series was wonderful. I was so happy to learn more about Brenda and her Mother, Blue. It was very sweet to hear about Brenda and Henry’s young love. Brenda notices Henry’s physic changing and deeper voice. Henry is very supportive to Brenda and is able to express his love and care even though they each have been somewhat shy in the past. Brenda demonstrates such maturity in her relationship with her newly found mother. I have enjoyed each book in this wonderful series by Jean Brashear. I feel like I know these people from Sweetgrass Springs. Weaving the some of the members of the community into this story was great, especially, with Veronica giving birth to twins for the 2nd time. And kind of fun to learn of Jackson and his “over the top” preparation of his vehicle.

Young Sweet Love

Jean turns a torrid past into a sweet love story. Brenda has endured more at her tender age than anyone should have. Henry loves Brenda from the day they meet, and he patiently waits and stands silently next to her. As they come to grips with the love they have for each other, the town of Sweetgrass stands by their own and support both Brenda and Henry.

Sweet Love Story

I love Jean Brashear's books. She has created a world that I love escaping into. I have been waiting for Henry and Brenda to get their happy ever after! It just wasn't long enough. What a sweet love story. I hope to see another book about them in the future.

Eric Dove did an excellent job bringing the story to life once again. He's a great narrator.

3.5 A Sweet Romance

This was Brenda and Henry's book, but mostly Brenda's. I listened to the Audiobook, and as usual, Eric G. Dove did a stellar job. The slightly different inflections he uses to give each character a voice is amazing. Having listened to some of the other books, I am wowed that I can recognize the characters just based on hearing the narrator

I enjoy going back to Sweetgrass Springs and all the people in this town. You can't say that it and its residents are problem free, but it is pretty idyllic. Both Brenda and Henry found a place that accepted them as they were and helped to incorporate them into the Sweetgrass family.

We get to learn a lot more about Brenda. When her past collides with her present, not only Henry, but the rest of the town is ready to stands with her.

My only wish is that there had been more of a story including Blu after Brenda discovered the truth. Maybe there will be a book featuring Blu somewhere down road.

This was a truly sweet story. Romance, a few kisses, and some really happy moments. I voluntarily listened to and reviewed this audio book received from the author.

Brenda & Henry

Brenda's story is one of heartache, but her time in Sweergrass will bring her healing. Henry did not plan to stay, but he loves Brenda. An emotional read. The narrator, Eric, is my favorite.

Absolutely Delightful!

This was such a sweet story. I have been looking forward to Brenda and Henry’s story and was certainly not disappointed. It is absolutely delightful and brought tears, laughter and so many more emotions. It was fun hearing about the other characters in the series as well. I look forward to listening to this many more times! Jean Brashear is such a master storyteller and always grabs your interest right from start to finish. Well worth the time, money or credit!

Eric G Dove once again does an exemplary job of narrating and bringing the story to life!

Wow

This was awesome, two sweet innocent soles with backgrounds to break a heart, have come through it with sweetness in tact.
And the all encompassing great town of Sweetgrass. Where Brenda’s past comes back and you find out the truth. Narration was awesome up until it stopped working.
