Publisher's summary

One billionaire... one tomboy... one night of magic. Miracle or mirage?

Empire builder Dominic Santorini is surrounded by women angling to share the luxurious life his wealth will buy.

Eccentric, colorful tomboy Lexie Grayson encounters a hot guy in a hotter classic car broken down on the side of the road, and an afternoon as his mechanic leads to a scorching night with a man she knows only as Nikos - but when dawn arrives, he's vanished, never to be seen again.

She buries her heartache in her new job, staging an extravaganza launch for a video game that will give her a chance to snoop around for clues that the company is responsible for stealing from her best friend. But when she meets her new employer....

He's an ice-cold version of that magical night's unforgettable lover.

What kind of man did she fall for on that incredible night? Does he know his company has stolen from her best friend? Why does he act as if they've never met? Was the magic they shared only a lie?

He's as shocked as she is. Was the fairy sprite who touched his heart an illusion as false as the ones she is creating for his gala? Worse, could the woman he can't forget be behind the leak that's endangering his company's survival?

What is truth, and who is real... and is love a luxury neither can afford?

A favorite of this series.

Jean Brashear is a wonderful author. I have read several of her books. I really enjoyed this book/audio book. It's one of my favorites of this series. Loved the characters and storyline. Especially since it wasn't so dependant on knowing the rest of the series to feel a part of the book. My heart just squeezed with emotion. Wonderfully written.

Eric Dove was an excellent narrator! He did a great job with both male and female voices. A rare treat. Look forward to hearing him more.

Mystery and Suspense

This was a good story in its own right. If you are looking for the same feel you get with a Sweetgrass Springs story, you will not find it here. Jackson Gallagher, Scarlett, and Spike are mentioned, but that is pretty much the extent of the Sweetgrass connection.

That being said, this was a romance novel about computer espionage, loyalty vs. disloyalty, honesty vs. dishonesty, love, friendship, and vulnerability.

The last couple of chapters were somewhat exciting and suspenseful. The narration was ok. There wasn't quite the same energy that I have picked up on other Sweetgrass books, but that may have been because this book had a different energy than the others. I still found the narrator was able to take me to the dome, the mansion, the gala, etc. with no problem.

I voluntarily listened to and reviewed this book.

Dominic & Lexie

Dominic and Lexie meet when they are both away from their work-selves. The night is one of magic and a connection they never thought they would ever find. Their second meeting is less than idyllic and they both jump to conclusions about the other. Neither takes the time to talk to the other about the confusion and assumptions. The last few chapters were great. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book/ audio.

Just Marvelous!

I love it when I am totally captivated by a book right from the beginning to the very end. Jean Brashear, once again, has given readers a wonderful romance with such skill and finesse that it is difficult to put this one down until the end. Dominic “Nikos” Santorini and Lexie Grayson’s story is full of intrigue and romance. Their meeting is so sweet, however it is far more complicated than either of them realizes. I absolutely loved this story and highly recommend this one! Eric Dove never disappoints with his marvelous narration.

Totally loved it!

Would you consider the audio edition of Texas Magic: A Sweetgrass Springs Story to be better than the print version?

I enjoyed the narration on Texas Magic. I really liked being able to listen to it on my way to work. You get in trouble if you read while driving. I can't even put makeup on while driving.

Have you listened to any of Eric G. Dove’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I listened to Be Mine This Christmas also. I am quickly liking listening rather than reading. Eric G. Dove does a great job.

Any additional comments?

Just finished reading Texas Magic. I have a huge smile on my face. I love Jean Brashear's independent, strong women and her yummy alpha males who have a soft side. Please tell me there will be a story for Ariana and Max, together or alone. I think they'd make a great couple.

Technology threatens love, makes trust difficult

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book included hot sex and witty banter while demonstrating Lexie's and Nicos' best qualities of loyalty, love and dedication to their family/ friends. Texas Magic sizzles!

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the action and intrigue surrounding video game espionage. And it hyped up when desperation forced the villain's hand.

What does Eric G. Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Eric has a warm, mellow voice that makes listening enjoyable. He does not overact. And while listening to him, I can close my eyes and see the characters in action.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the villain was holding Lexie, Nicos came to full realization of what she meant to him. It took that moment to show him his true feelings for her. This was also a turning point in his relationship with the villain.

Suspense and Romance!

I loved this audible story. Excellent narrator. I listened to this book in one evening. I never stopped or put in on pause! "Texas Magic" was captivating right from the start. Dominic Santorini and Lexie Grayson had a sweet first encounter that turned scorching hot. Then work happened. When they met a second time, it was a cold business meeting. Several encounters occurred that involved suspense & intrigue. I like that this story links to the other Texas Heroes books. I can't wait to read or listen to another of Jean Brashear's books.
