Love this series, Love this author

Any additional comments?

What could be more exciting than a long time family feud and a budding romance? Ms. Fyffe brings us another exciting read filled with baiting, angry, sorrow and love. She puts her own twist on this story you will not see coming. Two people can’t stand each other letting a feud take over only they both can’t seem to forget the other. Both are attracted to the other but will not let anything come of it. They spend their time fighting that attraction only they seem to keep getting in each other’s way. I have loved this series from the start. This new addition just makes me love it more.

Dustin has spent many years fighting the Calhoun’s at every turn they seem to always be in his way at all cattle sales causing trouble. You would think he would get a fair share and get a break. This is not happening when the youngest Calhoun’s gets into trouble and the judge decides he must stay at the McCutcheon ranch. What in the world was this judge thinking everyone knows how the Calhoun’s and McCutcheon’s feel about each other. Things are taking out of his hands and he must do as the judge has ordered. He isn’t going to like it. As his mind goes back to the pretty little lady he thinks he might just find out where and who she is. That is when he sees her walk into the court room. No one is more shocked than he when she is there for Noah her brother. Just his luck the best looking women in town and she is a Calhoun. This is one strong, tough, caring loving man who will steal your heart.

Sidney is still thinking about the hunk of a cowboy that she saw earlier when she walks in the court room and sees him. You could have knocked her over with a feather when she found out who he was and that her brother would have to stay on his ranch to work off his debt. As things take a turn from bad to worse she just doesn’t know how things could get any worse, she is about to find out and she isn’t happy. Not only is she going to have to fight for her brother making sure they treat him right now she has to fight the attraction with a man she is suppose to and does hate or does she. I just loved the sassy up standing lady who will stand up for her love ones and fight to the bitter in.

Corey M. Snow as the narrator did a wonderful job with the narration. He really brought this audio to life for me with his smooth deep rich voice that you could listen to all day. I totally loved his male and female voices. You had no trouble knowing who was talking or what they were feeling. There was no background noise or any places where the audio was louder or lower just a very smooth wonderful listen. If any breaks were taken you could not tell, each chapter was in the same volume giving the customer a totally outstanding listen. This is an audio you will not want to put down as you find things to do so you can listen longer. Mr. Snow brings so much too this audio as he puts emotions to the story and paints a picture of Texas and the areas around it. You can see the landscape in your mind as you flip from character to character wondering just how this will all work out. He really bought this audio to life for me. I can’t wait to listen to more from him.

What can I say about Ms. Fyffe that hasn’t been said before…. She has been one of my go to authors when I wanted an exciting love story full of passion as she brings people together and let them fight it out through love. She writes stories that will stay in your mind giving you a smile why you long to be part of the towns she creates. I always wish I could jump into one of her stories being taken back to a time I would dearly have loved to live in. There is no doubt when you pick up one of her books you are in for a roller-coaster ride full of emotions as they bait each other fighting to the finish line. Her characters are easy to fall in love with. You have no trouble relating to and feeling for each one of them. Dustin and Sidney are sure in a pickle as they fight their love trying to stay true to their family. Sometimes family just isn’t enough when ones heart gets in the way. Both are strong characters, who are use to getting their way, they stand up for what they believe in and will fight to keep it. Nothing is more important than family and their values that is until Dustin and Sidney eyes meet. The supporting characters are wonderful they keep you smiling and chuckling throughout the listen. There are places where your heart goes out to each one of them when their sorrow comes out. These are normal people living normal lives just trying to do their best and make a place on the wild Texas land. They live and love giving so much to each other. If you haven’t read/listen to anything by this author you do not know what you are missing. This is one author who gives her heart to her characters with a wonderful rich clean story that pulls you in. I never want to see one of her books end and can’t wait for the next ones to begin. I highly recommend anything this author writes.

Texas Lonesome: McCutcheon Family Series, Book 8

Dustin was introduced in Texas Twilight (McCutcheon Family Book 2). When Lily, the woman he was pursuing, married his cousin John he behaved horribly. He showed up at their wedding dinner uninvited and started a fight that landed both him and John in jail for the night. His actions lead to the damage of restaurant and ruined John’s and Lily’s wedding night.

When Texas Lonesome (McCutcheon Family Book 8) begins Dustin and his younger brother Chaim are on a mission of mercy to help a friend. While on this mission he crosses paths with Judge Halford, a friend of his father, who happened to like the restaurant he caused damage to. The whole of Texas knows about the McCutcheons and Calhouns feud that has spanned 20 years. In fact Judge Halford knows both patriarchs and counts them as friends.

Sidney Calhoun is the second youngest of the family and has been her brother’s keeper since he was a toddler. She and her other siblings have been taught to hate the McCutcheon Family by their father. I loved Sidney from the moment I met her. She is brave and feisty with a heart of gold.

Dustin surprised me from the very beginning of this story. His redeeming qualities shone through from the moment that he met Sidney. Thanks to the feud started by Sidney’s father he was stuck in a very difficult position. Watching him come to terms with his feelings and learning to fight for what he believed was right was wonderful.

I was thrilled that John and Lily were back in this story. John is another one who had to learn to overcome his pride. Surprisingly, Dustin was very instrumental in him doing that.

This story was a roller-coaster of emotions that I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. While this book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone title, I have loved the entire series. I consider both the Texas and Montana McCutcheons my friends from another period in time and am thrilled to visit with them in each new adventure.

One McCutcheon isn't lonesome anymore....

Where does Texas Lonesome rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This audible ranks right up there with the top stories and narration. Corey Snow gives the book "life" with inflection and sincerity. He can make you smile with the story and shed a tear when tragedy strikes.

What other book might you compare Texas Lonesome to and why?

Montana Dawn is excellent; you have to love Luke and Faith. Or, if you are a fan of Mail Order Bride books, you can't miss with Kathryn who meets the love of her life when Tobit takes a bride.

Which character – as performed by Corey M. Snow – was your favorite?

Dustin McCutcheon without a doubt is done to perfection by this narrator. Corey Snow gives voice to both men and women but the deep voice of Dustin makes you realize he is the man you can fall in love with. When he talks to Sidney, you feel his love and sincerity.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely a book you don't want to put down. I confess, I was listening to this story late into the night. Listening to audible holds your interest and gives life to the characters.

Any additional comments?

Whether you read this book and/or listen to the story via audible, this genre holds your interest. A Caroline Fyffe book always gives heart and meaning to the old west. This book is no exception; you want to meet the McCutcheons of Texas.

Love this series!!!

Wonderfully written story, and have immensely enjoyed each book in the McCutcheon series.
Cory Snow did an incredible job in portraying each one of the characters in each story. His voice is amazing, and believable in every way. I didn't want each book to end, and found each each one to be better than the last! Looking forward to Carolyn Fyffe's next McCutcheon book. Please don't end the series!!!

Love beyond the feud!!

Once again Caroline Fyffe has written a story that just can't be put down. I love the McCutcheons and this one is no exception. The Texas branch of the family has its own problems and this newest one sets two feuding families together. With Dustin's sense of humor and Sidney's sassy spirit they are just so much fun to read!!

Dustin and his family have one of the biggest ranches in Texas. While in San Antonio to testify for a friend, Dustin meets just about the prettiest girl he's ever seen. Upon learning who she is though he must rein in his thoughts and try to deny his attraction to her.

Sidney Calhoun has once again come to bail her brother out. But the judge has other things in mind. Blaming the McCutcheon's for their father almost dying years ago, the families can hardly stand each other. Throwing the Calhouns and McCutcheons together is like mixing fire and gasoline. Feuding for years, she doesn't know how this will work but refuses to leave her brother in their hands. But her attraction to Dustin is bringing about a whole other set of problems.

Will these two ever come together or will their families feud blind their hearts to what could be? And will a secret kept for many, many years destroy a family for good??
One of Caroline's best yet!! Cannot wait for more of the McCutcheons!!

The best series I've followed for 2 years

Starting box nine. And can't wait! Every since the mail order bride series I can't put these books down. Sometimes I think I was born at the wrong time. Carolyn paint such a vivid picture of life then. Can't wait for more
