Ternet Ninja blev bidt i stumper og stykker efter mødet med en glubsk narkohund i Bangkok Lufthavn i Anders Matthesens første børnebog "Ternet Ninja", som udkom i 2016 til stor anmelderros og sammenligninger med både Ole Lund Kirkegaard og Bjarne Reuter. Nu fortsætter historien i en bog 2, hvor ånden efter den gamle japanske ninja opstår i ny skikkelse, men med samme rapkæftede personlighed. Den nye historie følger Aske og hele hans pukkelryggede familie på ferie: papfar Jørn, som har gang i et nyt projekt (denne gang en tarm-app), Sune med den glubende appetit, Askes mor Sirene og onkel Stewart, ikke at forglemme. Det går ikke stille for sig i Bangkok og omegn, når den højrøstede familie slår sig løs.
Bøgerne er gennemillustrerede med s/h stregillustrationer af Thorbjørn Christoffersen i samme tegnestil som filmen.

Anders Matthesen rammer plet med ny børnebog. Alle børn burde have en ternet ninja som sparringspartner […] Det funker fint hele vejen igennem, og løjerne lægger sig op ad sproget, så det hele virker som Bjarne Reuter version 2016.

Matthesen må i al fald meget gerne fortsætte som forfatter, for hans på en gang skæve og barske, men også sært genkendelige univers, er virkelig flere besøg værd.
