Publisher's summary

I was a liar, she was a coward.

Now she was home, and she wasn't mine.

Faith:

Our story was classic.

A typical fairytale.

Two young kids falling in love under an onyx sky.

He was my dream...and I naively thought I was his.

Until he bartered our love and sold me a lie.

Now, I’m returning to the life I once knew as a married woman, wed to the richest man in Nashville.

But it seems I wasn’t the only one who changed during my time away....

Hardened by life, Jace Walker’s glares drip with heat and derision.

He’s got war in his eyes and venom in his veins.

I thought I would be safe coming back home, but it seems I only ran from my present to be caught in the crosshairs of my past.

*This is an angsty stand-alone romance with no cheating.*

I love all Ashley’s books but this one is not one of ‘em

The story was ok but what got me was the back and forth between the FMC and MC. It almost made me stop listening to it. I cannot stand Faith. I dislike a weak FMC. She has no backbone. She knows what she must do but she doesn’t. And Jace, he’s so vulnerable. Always second guessing Faith. I still love Ashley’s work and will continue to support her.

Not sure why all stellar reviews

This book was frustrating and long for absolutely no reason. It should be listed under preteen. The characters lacked maturity. The push and pull was immature and the storyline was ridiculous. Honestly, it could have been wrapped up in 6 chapters with one conversation. The narration was ok considering what they had to work with.
