Publisher's Summary

Children are killing themselves across the state of Tennessee. Is it a horrible coincidence, or are dark forces at work?

When Jack Nightingale learns that there is a mysterious list of children who are at risk, he takes the case, spurred on by the fact that he knows one of the names, and that makes it personal. His investigation brings him up against a demon from hell who is being used on a mission of revenge. But if Nightingale is to save the children and his own soul, he’ll need help from an old adversary.

Rushed audio, poorly edited, but good book.

I've listened to pretty much every book in the Nightingale series, and this is one really is a step backward in quality. Paul Thornley is great, and the story is good, but the editing is clearly rushed.

There are some parts where the narrator re-reads the same line, long silences that are immersion breaking, I'm pretty sure there are parts where I can hear paper moving, and quite, unfortunately, too many times, I can hear swallowing - this makes me very uncomfortable.

Again, I think most of the creatives involved do a good job, and I'm willing to overlook these flaws to finish the story, but it could use a second go at editing to improve quality.

It’s ok

Didn’t grip me like San Fran and NY stories and I’m not sure why. I wonder is it’s because I’m getting tired of it??? Then again, I’m about to start New Orleans - this looks interesting 😀

Bloody marvellous

This was a weird one, sad and triumphant all in one, bravo Mr Leather, I was pretty in much in terror from the seventh hour onwards, would this be the end of Jack? Sighs in relief, NO, he gets to live on and the reason why made me smile so wide my face is still aching hours later ... read it and laugh ... this one's a winner

I love Stephen Leather but I didn't realise he alsol wrote supernatural stories and I hate those. Sorry. But I couldn't get past the second chapter.

Paul Thornley and Jack Nightengale perfection

Listened to all the Jack Nightingale stories so far and really enjoy them. Paul Thornley really adds and his skill at all the various accents for characters am so impressed by. This one probably not the best in the series but about to buy the next one with my audible credit…
