Tending the Cousins

Twenty-year-old Naomi Lambright has always harbored a fervent desire to teach at her local Amish schoolhouse. Her anticipation peaks as she awaits the deacon's offer for the coveted position. Yet, her dreams crumble when he announces the role has been given to Silas Yoder, who soon arrives in town with his two young dependent cousins in tow.

Reluctant to work on her family's dairy farm, Naomi finds solace in an unexpected opportunity—an Englisch woman offers her a nanny job. It's there she encounters Ezra, the Mennonite neighbor, whose charm and warmth quickly captivate her.

Meanwhile, Silas discovers Naomi's thwarted hope, and feeling badly, he enlists her help in developing student activities. As they collaborate, Naomi witnesses Silas's unwavering devotion to his orphaned cousins, kindling a deep admiration within her. Nor does it take long for Silas to realize how gifted Naomi is with kinner, and he admires her greatly.

Naomi finds herself torn between two men. Despite her friend Mona's caution against Ezra, Naomi finds herself drawn to him. Yet, she realizes Mona's wisdom. Now, trying to untangle her heart, Naomi fears the repercussions of her feelings for both men. She worries that if the men find out about each other, she will lose the man she soon realizes she truly loves.
