Publisher's Summary

Katie Perkins lives a simple life. She takes care of her son, works hard, and tries not to worry about the man-shaped hole in her life. That is, until she wins a fantastic luxury holiday. Throwing caution to the wind, Katie lets down her hair, and the holiday mood takes over.

Enter Jackson Quinn, a handsome doctor who is no stranger to the good life.

Katie has no experience of riches, and with only her bus fare home in her pocket, she decides there’s no harm in a few white lies. Filthy rich? Check. Size ten? Check. Olympic gymnast who can complete a Rubik’s cube in under 30 seconds? Check. After all, it’s not like she’s ever going to see Doctor Quinn again.

Follow Katie’s hilarious journey as she learns that sometimes those little white lies really can come back and bite you on the butt.

This stand-alone romantic comedy has a happy ending, no cliff-hanger, and can also be enjoyed as part of The Power of Ten series.

Please note: It is best suited for listeners over the age of 18 due to sexual themes and mature content.

Wonderful, funny book!

I quite enjoyed Ten Lies. I have to admit, I was kinda skeptical of how Ms. James would pull the book together around the ten lies portrayed at the beginning, but she has done a fantastic job. Another hilarious addition to the Power of Ten series. I love how each book introduces new characters, while at the same time elaborates on characters we met in previous books.

The narrator does a wonderful job of giving each character a unique voice, while maintaining believable characters and emotions.

This has quickly become one of my favorite series and authors. Thanks so much Ms. James for the opportunity to review this book!

Ten lies abroad

It's easy to understand how a few little white lies can blow up in your face, especially if you never intend to see the recipient of those tall tales again. We all need a friend like Melinda who has Katie's back no matter what but maybe not the hilarity she instigates by adding to the lies.

The sushi incident had me laughing out loud. I'm a a hard critic when it comes to humor but will always comment when a book gets a laugh out of me as this one did.

The narrator and author were great.

Fantastic RomCom & Narration🎧A Heartfelt Delight!

Emily James pens another wonderfully delightful “Power of Ten” novel, I just love this series, they are so well written with storylines that are fun, heartfelt and captivating from start to end. The dialogue she creates for her characters is just amazing, there are so many laugh out loud moments. This book is Katie Perkins story, she was introduced in Melinda’s story “10 Dares”. Katie is a widow and single mother of an adorable son, Barry, whom I just loved. She runs the local bar restaurant and lives in the apartment above it. The story starts with Katie returning from the vacation she won, a luxurious trip to Antigua. She had a great time, met a nice guy named Jackson Quinn spent time with him, told him some made up stories about her life, little white lies of things she dreamed of being or just what she thought he wanted to hear. Why not she is not ever going to see him again. Wrong! Turns out Jackson winds up coming to her home village working as the temporary Doctor in the villages’ medical clinic for six weeks. Katie explains to Melinda about all the white lies she told him, all ten of them and she decides to help cover for her. Some of them were just outrageous and it created hysterical situations. I adored Jackson, he had a great personality and demeanor. He was awesome with Katie’s son Barry, who was an adorable, smart five year old. Katie was amazing with Barry as well, I loved how she handled somethings with those phone calls, so imaginative and delightful. I highly recommend this book, once you pick it up you will not want to put it down, it is entertaining and enjoyable and will definitely put a smile on your face. Thank you Emily James for another fantastic book, your humor is brilliant.

I listened to the Audible edition, Kim Bretton is a terrific narrator and a talented voice artist. She brings these characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. She does a great job projecting the characters emotions and passion into her performance. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures and lands the humor with ease, not missing a beat. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen🎧

Darned Onion Ninjas!

So, of the three books in this series so far, this one has been my favorite. It's so real and heartfelt, and I can relate. This book will make you laugh one minute, squirm the next minute, and a sobbing mess the next, if you're anything like me. Super relatable characters and excellent heat. I would recommend to people who love a great story with backstory and heart. You could read this story as a standalone, or as part of the greater series. It's one of those book series that follows a new main character for each book.
