Another great midnight breed book from Lara. As usual, Hilary Huber rocks another perfect story. Glad she continues to narrate this series...

Great Series! Good listening!

I enjoy this series a lot. There's always great romance, and some action. Love the whole breedmate scenario, and the chemistry is usually awesome. I've been listening to the novellas from this series, and the narration has been great. The narrator for this one does a great job. I liked that Lazaro and Melena have a bit of a back story, and I like when there's a bit of resisting to fall in love. Lazaro doesn't want to bring anyone into his dangerous world, but he's finding it difficult to resist the pull towards Melena. They have some great passion between them, and I enjoyed Melena calling Lazaro out on his b.s. The beginning was an exciting way to start the story too; it drew me in. Looking forward to more!

Wished it were longer-love Lazaro's story

As an avid reader and listener of this series, I was excited to listen to the story. I like Lazaro's character and his story when his darkhaven was destroyed in a previous book. I was glad to hear his love story was coming. I enjoyed the story. I wished it were longer with more character development and details. That is the con for me.
This book/novella helps to continue to build the series.
Hillary Huber did a great job reading. I always enjoy her work.

Facinating!

I thoroughly enjoyed this tale! The journey the main characters took to reach each other fraught with peril and ancient hurts. The narration was well done supported the whole listening experience. I would love to listen or read the other books in the series as well.

I LOVE this series!

So much action and romance packed into a short novella that leaves you completely satisfied. Strong aloha bale breed with an equally strong, intelligent mate. After do many novels I still haven't tried or got bored. Now if our human makes were equally intense we'd all be walking around with a content smile on our faces 😚

Tempted by Midnight (Lazarro and Melina)

Again, Melina easily bypasses security in the compound. There needs to be more restrictions around forming the blood bond. Considering the seriousness and permanence of the act, too many oh oh just couldn’t help it. Didn’t like Melina disrespecting Lazaro in presence of his men and didn’t like her tirades. I lied the happy ending but. It shouldn’t be so predictable as to how they get there. Perhaps Derrick should have turned Her over to Opus Nostrom and she got rescued by Lazaro or that he returned to Rome and had a hard time getting to Melina. I know Dereck was killer but still her brother but She quickly gets over loss of both because she got her man makes the love she professes for her father in the beginning of story not true. Maybe story not available on audio book yet but what book establishes the DC office and When did Leuk. and Gab son grow up to adulthood since he drove Mel to Md?

Second chance for Lazaro

This story was short and sweet. The narrator was awesome as usual. The chemistry between the characters was just right. Mel and Lazaro were likable characters and they fit together. I’m wish we had more back story about the villain’s choice to betray The Breeds but I’m sure it will come up in later stories.

Lazaro Archer is a Gen One breed warrior for the team that is based in Rome Italy and he was the commander of that team. He has been assigned to make a connection with an Italian business man who is also a politician and has powerful allied supporting him. He is also known as Signor Paolo Turati during the meeting another breed male and also an influencers in the business community. He is known as Byron Walsh was also to join them in the meeting of diplomatic reasoning and accomplishing progress within the humanity, the GNC, and the breed leadership warriors. Let me begin by saying that The Midnight Breed series, by the brilliant author, Lara Adrian, is hands down my favorite paranormal series of all time. It was this series and this author that began my journey into the realm of romance and who opened my eyes to a world I had not known existed before. Twelve and a half stories into the series and it's a comfortable old friend or one of the family. Tempted By Midnight is no exception because it takes one of our old friends in the series, Lazaro Archer, who has suffered so much in the past and gives him a chance at a new life worth living. When Lazaro Archer lost his Breedmate and family to the evil Dragos, he blamed himself completely for not being there to save them. Now, twenty years later he is a hardened Breed enforcer keeping himself at arm's length from any kind of relationship with his own kind. He is dedicated to keeping the Order in check in Europe and nothing will sway him from his mission, until red headed trouble comes his way. Tempted Midnight gives us civilian turned Order Commander Lazaro Archer's story and it was interesting to see where Lazaro ended up after his first appearance in earlier books. He's still grieving the loss of his family and is afraid to take a chance on love even after he meets the vivacious Breedmate Melena Walsh. Things move quickly between these two since it's just a novella and while they were certainly hot together it's not the smoothest relationship development, depending mostly on insta-love. Lazaro is pretty much a jerk most of the story but I loved Melena who was outspoken, feisty, and strong which is a nice contrast to the more genteel heroines in the series. I also really enjoyed meeting the other Order warriors in the Rome branch and I hope we get their stories because I am very intrigued.
