Great Story

Interracial relationship (black woman white males), diverse shifter community, interesting take on polyamorous relationships , magic, ghosts. Just wished there was more detail and more of a climax to the sudden changes in the main character . Liked it a lot !

Not as good

Different narrator then all other books. Takes away from the story. Prefer previous narrator. Not good with male voices.

Poor narrator

I was unable to get into this book like all the others. I couldn’t make out each character so it was like the story all ran together. Which is a shame knowing that it would be held out due to the story in time line order. I would warn others to pass this book by, even if it is on sale! Not worth it!!

The women reading isn’t nearly as good

I was completely captivated by all the previous books, the reader was fantastic. The one reading this book is not even close to as good

The best in the series!

I loved this book. The narrator was great and the main character was perfect. Strong, yet vulnerable. I wish this book had been longer.

Story is fine

I enjoyed the other 3 books and although this is a stand alone book I can’t say I loved it; liked it maybe. I liked the way it pulled characters from the other books but was not a total fan of the MC. I did love that she was independent and strong but strong doesn’t mean lacking common sense and knowledge of a world she only worked barely in.

spoilers

The book is ok but I really wish for better relations between humans and Amaroki. Eilea was human for most of her life and only was gifted the ability to become a shifter when an Amaroki god deemed her worthy. It's only this moment that she remembers that her grandmother was a witch and that she knew all her grandmother spells. Her magical ability originated with her human grandmother but this fact is completely ignored after that hasty and idiotic revelation. Once assimilated into the Amaroki she becomes nothing more than the magical black person trope. Having to lose for humanity and in a way the origins of her magic seems like a downgrade to her character. It only serves to make Nekomi right in saying that humans and Amaroki should not mix because humanity seems to only lose out in the bargain.

Weird to have a different narrator but you soon get used to it

This book is a good balance of well known characters and new perspectives. Bring on the pack life!
