The narrator killed it. In a good way!

I’m an audible book junkie, for me the narrator easily makes or breaks an audible and Tegan made this book. She was a great “love to hate her” but she evolved nicely along Dellas journey. I didn’t love the very end of the book (literally the very-think last two paragraphs) either as written or performed but Otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the listen. There were a lot of characters to cover and I was able to keep them separate by voice, not an easy task with so many people. Looking forward to more by both the author and the narrator.

Wonderful story!

I started with the free daily podcast for a couple of weeks and just needed to read more faster so I signed up for Audible and have now finished it. I look forward to reading/hearing more Stephanie Bond books and serials.

Constant Chuckles

Temp Girl was delightful! But before I speak about my own experience, I would like to address the review from Disappointed. In reference to the comment - there was no deferential characters voice - Temp Girl is written in the 1st person. The narrator and lead character ARE the same voice. Additionally, I thought the actor did a wonderful job tackling some dozens of other characters. As far as Della being irritating, I think the author and the actor made an effective choice. It serves completely the author's intent because if Della weren't so unlikable then what happens to her (and what she does about it) wouldn't be so funny. Nor would her personal growth, ultimately, be so moving.

As far as the story line is concerned, it is highly improbable. But what story line isn't? In fact, the author, herself, acknowledges that in a line here and there. It's farcical but that's a time honored way of adding humor to a story. Temp Girl was super fun. The main character is all sass, wit and heart. The narrator's comedic timing and skill brought the book to life for me. I laughed often and loud.

Fun read. Talented writer.

Having not read Ms. Bond before, I wasn't sure what to expect. These characters were so well-drawn, entertaining, emotionally honest and FUN--I plowed through this! Great story about a narcissist who, uh, grows. : )

Just what I needed

Just what I needed for pre-moving week. Something easy on the ears/uncomplicated and fun to listen to while I was packing and running all over town. I could stop and start again without having to remember complicated names and scenarios. Wish I could find another like this one.

Great characters and humorous

The narrator did an outstanding job. I felt like I got to know the characters, flaws and all. It's my second Stephanie Bond book, different narrators and laugh out loud thoughts and dialogue. A great, relaxing listen!

I could stop listening

Such a great story and so easy to get into. I love the short chapters! They fit into my daily commute.

Hashtag - Loved It

This was a really fun book and I appreciated how the story came across in a way I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next. While witty and “good story telling” interesting, it also had a great (maybe lesson) of the societal struggles we face around body weight issues and position/wealth. This was not my normal kind of read, but I’m glad I did. Awe…. #lovedit.
