Publisher's Summary

Laurel Chin led an ordinary, comfortable life.

While many might think waitressing wasn't a great job, Laurel Chin loved it. She enjoyed meeting the customers and working side by side with her family in their small Jamaican-Chinese fusion restaurant on the edge of Birmingham's Chinatown. Like everyone else, she'd been astounded at first when the aliens appeared, but as they offered friendship and trade, she soon lost most interest in the news about them. If there was anything to worry about, she trusted Prime Minister Simms and Parliament would let the public know. She settled back into her routine of work, Sunday lunch at her mother's, and hanging out with her sister.

Tellan was honoured to be named Ambassador.

Tellan knew the Mylos were in need of fresh genetic trade. The humans of Earth were a bit less advanced socially and technologically than their past trade partners, so great care had to be taken when offering treaty terms. If all went smoothly, he'd soon see human institutions of higher learning teaching Mylos science and philosophy and Bride Registry Centres open across the globe. Then the Bride Fleet assigned to Earth would arrive and Tellan could return home for less fraught diplomatic duties.

All was not as it first seemed.

Neither Tellan nor Laurel knew that their governments had already made certain arrangements. Laurel definitely would have been wary of taking social media quizzes had she known what was about to happen. As for Tellan, he was matched and that was that, no matter how much he disapproved of the method used to do so. They had to try to make this work - the fate of both their worlds and a galactic civilisation sat upon their shoulders. It was duty, but if the match was accurate, it was also a fated love.

No cliffhanger!

The story is very well written, and executed. Both the author and narrator are very talented!

now, allow me to fangirl! HOLY EFFING CRAP! Is it wrong to want to sign up to be a bride candidate?! So very well done, a well thought out plot and storyline. I can't wait to read others and then read the entire series again!

Alien mates

Laurel takes a FB quiz and finds herself mated to an Alien ambassador named Tellan. The political part was expected. The sex was sexy and hot. Enjoyed listening to the story.

Interesting Alien's.

l quite enjoyed this start of series Alien/human brides. l was impressed with the mature way the first bride reacted to the news and her fortitude thereafter. I do always suggest you listen to the narrator's sample when perusing an item to make sure you like how they speak and whether you like their voices before you buy.

Different look at aliens needing mates

I did enjoy this story of aliens developing a mating service to find eligible mates. Laurel is a strong female and speaks her mind even to powerful leaders. Some of this is due to the fact that she knows Tellan is backing her. He wants her to feel comfortable in her new environment. He does have her physical and emotional needs in mind. I do wish there was more compassion between them. The ending did seem a little abrupt. The narrator did a good job. But I personally thought that she did make the alien voices a little too robotic sounding. I received this Audible book in exchange for an honest review. I did enjoy listening to this book and would listen to more of this author's books.

Such a great story

I had a blast listening to this story. Even though there were plenty of political aspects in this book between the Mylos and the planet Earth there was plenty to keep things enjoyable. There were several times that I laughed so loud my husband heard me in another floor of the house. As for the narrator I really enjoyed how she handled all the different characters and accents.

Interesting Story!

I enjoyed listening to this story, although I was more caught up in the political aspect of this tale much more than the romance. I must say that I wasn’t surprised by how the world leaders shirked on their promises to the aliens to properly set up Bride Registry Centers. The romance in the story was a bit rushed, and I did like the integrity shown by Tellan. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Perfect Match

It's nice to have aliens with morals and manners. I was a little worried that the heroine was going to be super submissive because she never really signed up to be matched yet she was "okay, let me pack my things". But it turns out she is just very open minded and open hearted. I really liked the hero and his wanting to make her happy. Ashley Taylor gave the characters great distinctive voices. I look forward to more of this world!

Good alien book

A really enjoyable read for someone that wants something a little bit different. Good characters that I would love to see more from. Excellent narration from Ashley, her male voice is brilliant.

What an amazing beginning to a series!!!

This is my first book by this author ( Loretta Johns)
And I have to say what a fabulous story. My only complaint is that it is a short story. I can’t wait for books by this author. I’m hoping that this will be a long series of stories. The narrator Ashley Taylor does a phenomenal job with the characters . I hope to hear more from the author.
