Immersive thriller

Tell Her was wonderfully narrated my Cassandra Medcalf and Nathan Agin. Chris Patchell doesn’t disappoint with this intriguing and engaging plot line.

Great series!!

I’m really enjoying this Lacey James series. Chris Patchell has done a great job of giving us a realistic character. Lacey James is a strong woman. She’s often struggling to balance her work and home life, just like we all do. She’s married to Caleb and has two children. Officer James is also cop. She seems to put herself in danger frequently, even though I don’t think she means to, it happens. In book 3, JJ is murdered after a fight with a couple of men in a bar. JJ was standing up for the female bartender since the men were harassing her. JJ seems to be a stand-up guy, but it’s obvious from the little time we have with him that he has secrets. Officer James wants to get to the bottom of these secrets. Who was JJ? Why does nothing line up? Can Lacey keep up with the case while her home life and marriage seem to be falling apart all around her?

I’m seriously happy they have kept the same Lacey James narrator this entire series, Cassandra Metcalf. Metcalf has become Officer Lacey James, in my opinion. Metcalf has a way of making James a woman and a strong police officer. I can’t imagine it would be easy to be a woman struggling with a marriage, there’s heartbreak and hurt, then on the other side, she has to be a strong police officer that is ready and able to handle whatever is thrown at her next. Metcalf has handled the many aspects of James very well. I also really enjoy Nathan Agin’s input. He has a strong voice and carry’s the male characters very well.

An immersive, edge-of-your seat mystery!

  Chris Patchell has delivered another vivid, gripping mystery/thriller in the brilliant Lacey James series.  I recommend listening to the books in order.  From the very first minute, I was immersed in the town of Sweet Home, Oregon, and the fascinating murder case.  The readers get the details of the police procedural and the nail-biting case while getting to know Lacey and her partner Eli.  Lacey is dealing with marriage problems while she and her co-workers try to solve the case.  I love the thrilling moments as well as the character development of Lacey, who is a likeable, capable, intelligent woman.  This is a wonderful audiobook that I highly recommend to all mystery/thriller fans.  There is some violence, but bad language and bloodiness are minimal.

   The pair of narrators gave perfect performances.  Nathan Agin narrates the first chapter or two from the perspective of the male victim, and Cassandra Metcalf narrates the remaining chapters from the perspective of Lacey.  Ms. Metcalf’s voice completely brings Lacey to life in my mind, and she is also extremely accomplished at all the voices of the other characters.  Both narrators have excellent pacing and acting ability.  I am extremely pleased with the narrators.  They elevate the text to another level of excellent entertainment.

okay, well, dang, I wasn't expecting that ending. this book just kept me guessing. just when you think you know who the killer is , you get a plot twist, and you're like dang for real. lol, but this was a really good book. you guys are not going to be disappointed. the narrator's did a really good job too.

Great addition to the series!

This is the second novella in The Lacey James series, a crime thriller. I love this series! Lacey is a wonderful character, strong, smart. I liked Lacey's husband Caleb in Save Her, but not anymore. Lacey's partner Eli is an amazing character. The plot is well crafted, twisted, and captivating. Cassandra Medcalf, and Nathan Agin did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more in the series. #TheFlock

Chris Patchell has done it again!! Just when I thought I’ve got it figured out. I couldn't stop listening to find out who did what.
can't wait to start listening to the next Lacy James Series.

Who dunnit

Listened to this as a standalone - meaning I did not listen to books 1 & 2. Plot and character development were good, with a good level of mystery.

Narration was a little flat for my ears but this is personal preference. Overall, I recommend and will likely download books 1 & 2.

Lacey James

Lacey James is a kick ass woman but she also has her sensitive side. In this installment she has a lot going on between work and family her plate is over flowing. If you like a strong female character who is complex and compassionate this series is for you.

The story.

The story was easy to follow. And just when you thought you figured out who done it- nope! There’s a twist.

Great Mystery Series 5 ⭐️ for me!!!

I really enjoyed this whole series. Although I must say this is my favorite book! Officer Lacey James and her partner Eli Davidson work to solve the case piece by piece. I loved the way the case twists, leading them on.  And they take it apart clue by clue to solve the case. The twists kept me interested in the story. The storyline and narration was top notch!
