Publisher's summary

Life's a beach... and then you're undead?

In this must-have collection, five of today's hottest writers - Libba Bray (A Great and Terrible Beauty), Cassandra Clare (City of Bones), Claudia Gray (Evernight), Maureen Johnson (13 Little Blue Envelopes), and Sarah Mlynowski (Bras & Broomsticks) - tell supernatural tales of vacations gone awry.

Lost luggage is only mildly unpleasant compared to bunking with a witch who holds a grudge. And a sunburn might be embarrassing and painful, but it doesn't last as long as a curse. Of course, even in the most hellish of situations, love can thrive.... From light and funny to dark and creepy, these stories have something for everyone. You definitely won't want to leave this collection at home!

What a Pleasant Surprise!

A collection of short stories written by a bunch of famous authors usually end up disastrous, but not this one. I had bought this because I'm a huge fan of Cassandra Clare and Libba Bray. Though the styles of the stories aren't quite what I'd expected from these authors, I still enjoyed them a lot. The stories went from cheesy and funny to downright creepy and scary. Each story caught me by surprise with their creative plots and mysteries. I think people of all ages will find it entertaining and enjoyable. By the way, it gets better!

Here are the stories:
1.Crusin - Sarah Mlynowski
2.I Don't Like Your Girlfriend - Claudia Gray
3.The Law of Suspects - Maureen Johnson
4.The Mirror House - Cassandra Clare
5.Nowhere is Safe - Libba Bray

Just not what I was expecting

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Eh, I'm not sure. the stories were well written, but it just didn't do it for me.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Like a said, this were good stories, just not what I was looking for.

Which character – as performed by Tara Sands – was your favorite?

This was a series of short stories, so there was not one particular character that stood out.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not.

Any additional comments?

As you can probably tell, I'm kind of ambivalent about this audio. Please, do not let that reflect the quality of the stories. The stories ranged from quirky to disturbing. But, it just wasn't what I was looking for at the time.
I had just read a book by Libba Bray "Beauty Queens" which had me rolling with it's biting humor. And I was looking for something like that. Which this was Not. But in and of itself it was a good book.
