Publisher's summary

Amanda Hocking is an indie publishing sensation whose self-published novels have sold millions of copies all over the world. Step into the world of the Trylle, and prepare to be enchanted….

When Wendy Everly first discovers the truth about herself—that she's a changeling switched at birth—she knows her life will never be the same. Now she’s about to learn that there’s more to the story…. She shares a closer connection to her Vittra rivals than she ever imagined—and they’ll stop at nothing to lure her to their side. With the threat of war looming, her only hope of saving the Trylle is to marry a powerful royal. But that means walking away from Finn, her handsome bodyguard who’s strictly off limits… and Loki, a Vittra prince with whom she shares a growing attraction. Torn between her heart and her people, between love and duty, Wendy must decide her fate. If she makes the wrong choice, she could lose everything, and everybody, she’s ever wanted…in both worlds.

As a special gift to listeners, this book contains a new, never-before-published bonus story, “One Day, Three Ways,” set in the magical world of the Trylle.

Critic reviews

"Fans of the series will enjoy watching on as Wendy continues to wrestle with issues of belonging…and matters of the heart that will keep readers happily entertained. There is no denying that Hocking knows how to tell a good story and keep readers coming back for more. More is exactly what they will be looking for once they’ve turned the last page." BETTER THAN THE FIRST

SO FAR SO GOOD. I THOUGHT THE FIRST BOOK WAS GOOD BUT THIS ONE IS EVEN BETTER. THERES MORE ACTION, MORE DRAMA, AND ANOTHER LOVE INTEREST. DEFINITLY WORTH IT.

Great book! This is a re-listen for me and I'm so glad I'm re-listening because I only remembered the main points which makes this feel like a first time! I love the direction this story is going and all the side characters who are becoming very important to the story. Book 2 really had a lot of story & world developments and that made this book very exciting for me. Besides some of the adults, there is not a character I don't like in this book. Wendy has really come a long way since the beginning of book 1 and she is going to be a kick butt queen!! I'm sad that I'm going into the last book because I don't want it to be over!

The narration is awesome, Therese Plummer is a narrator god in my opinion ;)

So glad I gave this a 2nd chance

This has been sitting in my library for well over a year and I finally decided to give it another try. I am so glad I did! This was so much better than the first book, which I thought was just ok. In this 2nd installment we get more background on the Trylle and the Vittra which made this book so much more interesting. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to immediately purchase and listen to the final book in the series as well. Thank goodness for second chances….

Better than the first but still

What did you like best about Torn? What did you like least?

I liked Loki and Tove best and Wendy the least

Would you recommend Torn to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes only if they want to complete the Trylle series like me

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked any scene with Loki in it. I really liked him.

Do you think Torn needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes because there some unanswered questions and it didn't feel like the story was finished.

Any additional comments?

Torn was better than the first but it still didn't grab me like other books did. I liked it but Wendy's drama is too much for me.

Voice actor

I enjoyed the story but cringed at the voice actor attempt on the guys voices . She did a good job but it kept reminded me of stoned Cali surfer dudes in movies lol

Compelling Series

Okay, I actually liked this better than the first book (which I also enjoyed), and that’s rare for a 2nd book in a series. This one charmed me with strong character growth and development.

The narrator is Therese Plummer, and she does a great job! I would listen to this again.

Second time for me!

First time read the trilogy, this time I’m listening while I work or while driving. Love it!
