A delightful series

This is the third book in a series for children but adults will enjoy it also. This book is a good choice for a family car trip. The story picks up from book 2 with the start of the trial for a man accused of killing his wife. In the last book Theodore class had permission to attend the trial as part of the class work but as the second trial begins the permission is revoked and only Theodore may attend and report back to the class. The story moves quickly into one attack after another on Theodore, his locker at school broken into and items missing, tires slashed on his bike the he is accused of stealing. The story provides some lessons on bullying, facing false accusation and honesty. The pace of the story is fast, never a dull moment. Richard Thomas does a great job reading the story. If you listen to the book with your children or grandchildren there are a number of interesting discussion topics in the story that should lead to great family discussions. Everyone in the family will enjoy this book.

This is a kids story!

At first I was ticked off at the narrator,,, then I was ticked off at the author. This is a KIDS story!!! Then I was ticked off at myself for not reading the summary in detail. I just didn't expect that from Grisham

THEN I cooled down and realized it really a pretty good story for the pre-teen listeners, especially if they can talk it over with their parents. Several topics are explored that are black & white for kids have lots of grey areas in reality. Making the right decision isn't all that clear
Well done

Mystery abounds!

What made the experience of listening to Theodore Boone: The Accused the most enjoyable?

The mystery ultimately gets solved and this extension of the earlier books helps carry the story forward. I wish all of Grisham's books were like that.

What other book might you compare Theodore Boone: The Accused to and why?

The series was fun reading and should be required reading for civics class in Junior High.

Have you listened to any of Richard Thomas’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think he is a terrible reader, but a great narrator. He does not change voice inflection so that one can easily tell who is speaking.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did because it was convenient.

Any additional comments?

I love the series and wish Grisham would write a sequel to The Partner, it begs for a sequel .

This was the best of the Boone books so far

I've heard three of the Theodore Boone books, and this was my favorite. I love the Uncle and his relevance to Theodore's evolution. The plot is good, and the situations believable. I am intrigued that Grisholm wrote these books for the teen audience. He did a superb job of it and made it interesting to adults too.

Not a bad story!

Any additional comments?

The Book, although (I feel) marketed for a younger crowd, was actually pretty good. I like the character. And the read was great!! I got the other two books on here. I should have gotten the earlier versions first. I Look forward to them. Theo is a good character.

Boring zzzzzzzzz

This book is so bad it is funny. My children (9,11) laugh because the sentences throughout the series are so repetitive (e.g., what Theo eats, riding his bike, Uncle Ike saves the day) and the plot is so tedious. A great book for future authors to read and find encouragement to launch their career.

Maybe It's Me...

I know I'm not the target demographic, but I didn't really care for this story. I
love the series, but this story line and it's sketchy ethics just didn't sit well with me.
