Publisher's Summary

The compelling and gripping sequel to Amy Ewing's debut, The Jewel, which BCCB said "[w]ill have fans of Oliver's Delirium, Cass' The Selection, and DeStefano's Wither breathless".

Violet is on the run - away from the Jewel, away from a lifetime of servitude, away from the Duchess of the Lake, who bought her at auction. With Ash and Raven traveling with her, Violet will need all of her powers to get her friends and herself out of the Jewel alive.

But no matter how far Violet runs, she can't escape the rebellion brewing just beneath the Jewel's glittering surface and her role in it. Violet must decide if she is strong enough to rise against the Jewel and everything she has ever known.

A huge improvement

The White Rose was a much faster paced story. It is unusual but the sequel was better then the first book by leaps and bounds.

This book was very well written and the narration was excellent. It was ever bit as good as the first book. I can't wait until book 3 comes out.

Enjoyed the second book in the series.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book is cross between the Hunger Games and The Selection. Plot tension was high. I rooted for characters.

The shocks continue!

If you could sum up The White Rose in three words, what would they be?

I thought it was a wonderful sequel. We get more of a look at where the magic comes from and how society got so screwed up. The ending was nail biting and I cant wait to listen to the next one.

What did you like best about this story?

Its very truthful and honest about what the girls and boys go through.

This book is a must read!

This book is amazing. It isn't child-ish. There are many plots happening in the book. It's a people setting out to reclaim what's right and good in their society. To free an enslaved people, they have a special girl and many other special characters to bring this story to life.

It leaves you wanting more!

just as good as the first book!!!

Loved listening to this book as much as I did the first one.... Erin Spencer did a great job of narrating each character as she did in the first book... her voice is easy to listen to......
