Publisher's summary

His classmates may consider him a nerd, but Benedict Pendleton knows he's destined for great things. All he has to do is find a worthy girlfriend, and his social station will be secured. Sure, Benedict is different - but that's what he likes about himself.

Pen Lupo is sick and tired of hiding who she is. On the outside Pen is popular, quiet, and deferential to her boyfriend. On the inside, however, Pen is honest, opinionated - and not sure that she's quite like other girls. Do they have urges like she does?

When fate intervenes, Pen and Benedict end up at the same vacation resort for winter break. Despite their differences, the two are drawn together. But is there such a thing as happily ever after for this unlikely pair?

With an afterword read by the author.

So Freaking Adorable

You need to listen to this book. It was equal parts touching, hilarious, and adorable. And so real. I loved how the author took such a taboo subject like sex in high school and made it into something that wasn't taboo at all...just completely real and fun and REAL. Seriously. Get this audio book. It's the best book I've listened to in a long, long time.

I'm an adult, reading YA fiction...

The story is cute and I appreciate that the author incorporates sexuality and consent into the narrative. Teenagers deserve to know they aren't freaks for being horny little beasts and that consent is sexy. However, the acknowledgements portion of the book was dumb and confusing.

All smiles for the underdogs.

This novel is fantastic for young people to have perspective of what most teenagers think and go through from one end of the social spectrum to the other and common denominator that binds them.

This book was great...obviously (wink wink) :)

I usually don't read YA books, but if its narrated by Julia Whelan, then I'll have to read it because it'll be good...and also the story sounded good!
This book was so real as to what 'socially challenged ' kiddos are like. I liked the storyline, characters, and dialogue.
Fantastic book! I wish the author had more books!

Can't stop listening to this book

I've listened to this book multiple times now and I just love it. Worth every penny. If descriptive sex bothers you, you might have to skip some parts.

I was pleasantly surprised

I love anything read by Julia Whelan, but I kept avoiding this book for some reason. I finally bought it and I am glad I did. The book was funny, sweet, clever and charming all at the same time. It is a very good read!

Parts were great!

Julia Whelan really brought Penelope to life. Her voice really drew me in and is what kept me listening. I could see this book being helpful for teens with coming to terms with their sexuality however there seemed to be more very real and relatable issues which were left unresolved and rushed made me not as interested in the book as a whole.

Great Listen!

While this book is not for the "faint of sexual details" heart, it was a GREAT listen. I am personally not put off by that sort of thing and felt like the details were necessary to the story. It was the first book I have listened too in a long time that made me laugh out loud, never reach for the fast forward button and literally dread its coming to an end. It was heartwarming and fun from beginning to end.
