Publisher's Summary

Seventeen-year-old Cassie is a natural at reading people. Piecing together the tiniest details, she can tell you who you are and what you want. But, it's not a skill that she's ever taken seriously. That is, until the FBI come knocking: they've begun a classified program that uses exceptional teenagers to crack infamous cold cases, and they need Cassie.

What Cassie doesn't realize is that there's more at risk than a few unsolved homicides - especially when she's sent to live with a group of teens whose gifts are as unusual as her own. Soon, it becomes clear that no one in the Naturals program is what they seem. And when a new killer strikes, danger looms close. Caught in a lethal game of cat and mouse with a killer, the Naturals are going to have to use all of their gifts just to survive.

Not perfect but an enjoyable listen

Any additional comments?

There are a number of flaws in logic and some slight cliched teenage problems ( and, god help me, what looks very like a love triangle) but overall an enjoyable listen.

Really good

This book was good and you're on the edge of your seat the whole time. But I do have to say that this book is not for anyone under 13-14. It's good intriguing and a little creepy at times but all and all it was a pretty good book.

You

This book really surprised me, in the sense that I thought it would be a bit more "Scooby-doo" with a bunch of teens solving crimes Castle style (a whole lot of luck and intuition). But this wasn't the case and throughout the story you can really get into the heads of each character whose voices were read uniquely and were easy to distinguish (I especially loved the encyclopedia girls voice!). It was also really cool how you get into the killers head and that twist at the end was perfect! I applaud the writer for throwing me for a loop, which is rare. Very creepy, very cool book!
One last thing, I'm glad the ending was not a cliffhanger! True some things still need tidying up but it could be a stand alone which is refreshing for YA. I highly recommend this book to all my friends!

Exciting Thriller

Seventeen-year-old Cassie is a natural at reading people. Piecing together the tiniest details, she can tell you who you are and what you want. But it’s not a skill that she’s ever taken seriously. That is, until the FBI come knocking: they’ve begun a classified program that uses exceptional teenagers to crack infamous cold cases, and they need Cassie.

What Cassie doesn’t realize is that there’s more at risk than a few unsolved homicides— especially when she’s sent to live with a group of teens whose gifts are as unusual as her own.

Sarcastic, privileged Michael has a knack for reading emotions, which he uses to get inside Cassie’s head—and under her skin. Brooding Dean shares Cassie’s gift for profiling, but keeps her at arm’s length.

Soon, it becomes clear that no one in the Naturals program is what they seem. And when a new killer strikes, danger looms closer than Cassie could ever have imagined. Caught in a lethal game of cat and mouse with a killer, the Naturals are going to have to use all of their gifts just to survive.

Teenage son recommends

Where does The Naturals rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Both my teenage son and I listened to this book separately. It is his favorite!

What other book might you compare The Naturals to and why?

This reminded my son of an much more sophisticated version of the N.E.R.D.S. books he read in grammar school. Misfit teens with different skills working as a team to solves crimes.

What does Amber Faith bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brought the characters to life in an engaging manner that kept him listening from the beginning to the end in one day.

Any additional comments?

Although this is a YA book, I truly enjoyed the story with its twists and turns. My son and I would listen to another book by this author.

I loved the story it was writen in a way you could imagine you were watching this on a screen. I had fun guessing almost to the end who had committed the crime.

Fantastic performance by Amber faith. I really liked the story, it is a thriller so I would not recommend it to younger teens. I'm dying to hear the next one!!
