Publisher's summary

Charlie West just woke up in someone else's nightmare. He's strapped to a chair. He's covered in blood and bruises. He hurts all over. And a strange voice outside the door just ordered his death. The last thing he can remember is that he was a normal high-school kid doing normal things: working on his homework, practicing karate, daydreaming of becoming an Air Force pilot, writing a pretty girl's number on his hand. How long ago was that? Where is he now? Who is he really? And more to the point.... How is he going to get out of this room alive?

Not Just For Kids!

The main character is a teen-ager, but the book held this grandmother's interest every step of the way. My only complaint is that it didn't really resolve anything at the end. Most books that have sequels usually sort of tie things up, so that each book can stand alone. This was more like part one of a single book. It actually ended right in the middle of a situation, just leaving the reader hanging. I felt as if I'd bought a book and suddenly discovered someone had torn out the last few chapters. Or, as if I was watching a movie on tv and the power went off, leaving me frustrated that I didn't know how it ended. Having said all that, I will definitely be buying the sequels. I just hate that it's going to cost two credits to basically listen to one book. Or maybe three credits, depending on how the second book ends.

I can't wait to see what happens next

The story was very engrossing. I am very intrigued by how the main character wound up in the situation he is in. Ii'd say more but don't want to give anything away. If you like mysteries, this is compelling.

Entertaining thriller, safe for teens

The Lasr Thing I Remember is a fine little book for those of us who just simply like action stories with a purpose and without all the Hollywood style depravity, violence, and sex. It was written as a young adult novel, which means that the author can write the story this way and still get it published. This is a first-person novel, written from the view of the teenage main character. Lots of good Christian imagery as well. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I am so happy that I took a chance on this one.

If you could sum up The Last Thing I Remember in three words, what would they be?

Fast-paced, engaging, and fun.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Charlie. I loved his outlook on life and his beliefs.

Which character – as performed by Joshua Swanson – was your favorite?

Charlie. In my mind Joshua Swanson sounds like Charlie would sound.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!

Any additional comments?

I read a review from a grandmother about this book before purchasing it. That review is what made me take the chance on getting it. I must say that I would agree with her whole-heartedly, this book is not just for kids. I am 46 and enjoyed it completely.

Who can you trust?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense and puzzles.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Charlie West, was of course the best character.

Have you listened to any of Joshua Swanson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time I heard Joshua Swanson perform and I was impressed.

Any additional comments?

Charlie West is put through the ringer and throughout the book I kept hoping for some relief for him. In a way, he is like James Bond in that he has some great talents but he needs his brains to put those talents to his best advantage. Unlike Bond, he has no backup. There is no country, no spy network, to support him. He is totally on his own...at least at this point. I can't wait to listen to the next installment.

Very Good Suspense

I started listening to this with my 14 year old son but found myself listening when i was in the car alone, it was intriguing.

What i did not realize is that it was book 1 of a series, so when i got to the end, waiting for the conclusion, I found the cliffhanger and did as you would do for any good series 1 novel..... I went and purchased book 2. Looking forward to listening to it,

I recommend this book. Teenagers will definitely enjoy but so will adults.
