Publisher's Summary

Zeus has punished his son Apollo - god of the sun, music, archery, poetry, and more - by casting him down to earth in the form of a gawky, acne-covered 16-year-old mortal named Lester. The only way Apollo can reclaim his rightful place on Mount Olympus is by restoring several Oracles that have gone dark. What is affecting the Oracles, and how can Apollo/Lester do anything about them without his powers?

After experiencing a series of dangerous - and, frankly, humiliating - trials at Camp Half-Blood, Lester must now leave the relative safety of the demigod training ground and embark on a hair-raising journey across North America. Fortunately, what he lacks in godly graces he's gaining in new friendships - with heroes who will be very familiar to fans of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus series. Come along for what promises to be a harrowing, hilarious, and haiku-filled ride....

    Story
    "Slow moving, but gets better😃"

The beginning of this book, dragged on and on,
It's does finally start to get interesting 1/2 way through. This installment introduces a lot of unknown characters, which after reading the first book, makes it hard to create an emotional connect to this new story. Yes Leo and Cal are in the story, but they have worst chemistry of any Percy Jackson universe couple. We just saw Will and Nico, in the last book, and they had amazing chemistry, so Leo and Cal's relationship is hard sell.

Apollo continues to grow on his soul searching quest of humanity and the story chugs along slowly, but eventually it gets exciting. You just have to stay engaged until you find the exciting part lol!

I'm still eagerly awaiting the next installment!

    "another great Rick Riordan story"

I really love the Rick Riordan books! they are entertaining with intricate and well-developed plots. this is the first series that centers on one of the Gods instead of demigods. Apollo's journey to learn about love and family is very compelling. it will be so hard to wait on the next one in 2018

    Story
    "Good Story, Mediocre Narrator..."
What did you like best about The Dark Prophecy? What did you like least?

The continuity of the Percy Jackson / Heroes of Olympus Universe. Rick Riodan keeps the saga moving on.

What other book might you compare The Dark Prophecy to and why?

Dark Prophecy feels like a reenactment of one of the Percy Jackson stories, only told in a different form. Young Apollo reminds me of Percy who is always finding trouble in school and yet seems to finds his way out of trouble, only to become the savior of the day.

Would you be willing to try another one of Robbie Daymond’s performances?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! While Robbie Daymond is not a bad narrator, he isn't the right fit for such as story. The perfect narrators for this type of story should be Jessie Bernstein and Joshua Swanson.

Could you see The Dark Prophecy being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I think when The Lightning Thief & The Sea Monsters movie came out, the story was changed around so dramatically, it ruined the chances for any other Rick Riodan's story to be converted into a movie. The story and characters of the story was totally messed up plus changed different;y for Dark Prophesy to become made into a movie.

    Any additional comments?

Rick Riodan should keep more of the stories coming. Like the others and always, Dark Prophesy was another good story. Overall Great Story!!!
