this is a great book to listen to

this is such a great book the story line is very good and it is easy to get lost in it. it makes you feel as if you are really there I even caught my self making some of the exspresions that the characters would make. the only thing I didn't like was the way the reader maid halt sound like to me I felt like halt should have a strong and deep voice but to me the reader maid me feel like he was some country hick which is a little hard to get use to at first. other then that it was great.

An Amazing Author!

I absolutely loved it! The Rangers Apprentice is a great series! I own all of the hardcover books but with how well the Narater does I'm beginning to collect the Audio books as well! I would also recommend reading The BrotherBand Chronicles an amazing spin off, best started after reading book three of the Rangers Apprentice. But also makes for a great stand alone series as well!

Missing half the book!

This audio book only has chapters 1-14. not at all worth $20. I love Ranger's Apprentice and i was extremely disapointed by audible stupid mistake and apparent uncaring about this.

The audio is missing chapters 15-27.

I am so disappointed that this audio version is only half of the book. it is missing chapters 15-27. Why charge so much for half a book?

The Burning Bridge=Chores moved to tomorrow.

There's no whoa to this book! There wasn't one of those myriad little sidebars that most authors create to make the book longer. From the beginning word, the characters, big and small, were moving to the conclusion of the book. The plot surprised, horrified, delighted, and moved me to tears at the books ending. And John Flanagan can add his name to the hero list in this series! He's my hero for creating it! If he has a narrator hero list, he'd better etch John Keating at the top. He certainly has earned it! Take it from a credit hoarder, it's well worth the credit so plunk it down. (But start at the beginning, you won't want to miss anything!)

Sequel even better than the FIrst Installment

If you could sum up The Burning Bridge in three words, what would they be?

Exhilarating. Compelling characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Burning Bridge?

Horace does something unexpected near the end. Don't want to spoil it!

What does John Keating bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His narration is just amazing. The characters come to life, as well as the humor and poignancy. Halt and Gilan are especially good. I'd never heard this narrator before this series, and now I'm looking for his work.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending. Again, don't want to spoil anything. If you enjoy the relationship between Halt and Will, it is very meaningful.

Any additional comments?

I thought this was even better than the original, and was not a formula sequel at all. The relationships between the characters are so well done in the writing and in the narration, especially Halt, Gilan, Will and Horace, but also Alyss as well.

Nice to have audio version.

I've always loved this series.
Great characters, great story.
Such good laughs too.

Narrator has such good voice acting, with clearly distinct voices and he's never too loud.
Some narrators get too quiet and they yell..
No bleeding eardrums here, it's just right.

Good follow up to book 1

Builds on the good foundation in book 1 of the series.

Also leaves us with a bit of a cliff hanger, but don't worry you'll be keen to move on to the next book and find out what happens.

best series

I have listened to the audio books three times and can't wait for the next book. John Keating is exceptional and Halt is my favourite literary character.
