Publisher's Summary

Brimming with new ideas for magical research, Emily returns to Whitehall School for her second year of magical education, looking forward to returning to her studies. And yet things are different; her new roommates harbor their secrets, her old friends are becoming distracted by sports and games, and one of the teachers seems to dislike her. As she starts new classes, she discovers she has to work far harder to keep her place in the school.

But her second year will be far more adventurous than her first. When it becomes clear that there is a murderer - and a spy - in the school, Emily will be the only one who can save the school from a plot aimed right at the heart of the Allied Lands themselves. And yet her curiosity may very well prove her undoing.

Number Three in great series.

Excellent narration by Tavia Gilbert great voices for the characters in the story. I also appreciate that she is the continuing narrator for this series.
I wish that Audible had a waiting list so that we would be notified when the next book in the series is released.
This series is a fun read and a real treat to listen to. The story flows smoothly characters keep their individuality and believability.
I was sorely disappointed when I could not purchase book four
Emphatically yes on the entire series so far and of course start with book one. this story does stand by itself still it is so much better if you start at the beginning .

amazing sequel to the first and second

I don't normally do reviews because I get embarrassed very easily at what I write. But this one is an exception. it was so good I couldn't let it go. I even found a way to listen to it at work. it was an amazing follow story to the high action second book. although it had a similar feel to a particular Harry Potter book(heck it's even referenced in there), but I won't say witch because spoilers.
Thank you for a great book and a great performance.

Emily's Latest Adventure

Study in Slaughter is book 3 of Schooled in Magic series on audio. There will be more to come. I am happy since this story was at least as good as the first two. Emily meets a shape shifter in 2nd year. There are new teachers and new students to meet. Well worth a credit.

Great Series

This series spliced multiple writer's styles together creating an excellent fantasy university. Although the Gordian Knot is not his best book. It was probably needed to create book 14.

Disappointed

This book started on a positive note, but in my opinion deteriorate fast!

I like the story concept, but the author, in my opinion, hasn't developed the story effectively. A lot of introspective babbling, dumb mistakes, recriminations, and lack of situational awareness by the heroine made this book aggravating to listen, at least in my opinion!

Great Story

I don't know why everyone compares this books series to the Harry Potter books. Yes, it is set in a school for magic but that's the extent. It's very much it's own unique story and well worth the credit. I've read the first three books in the series and they're very entertaining. The only complaint is the narrator reads too quickly. I had to slow it down to 75, but the narrator does an amazing job at voices.

Number 3

A good enough story but just getting a little familiar and unmoving. I enjoy the series and look forward to the next episode. I just want to see the 'Child of Destiny' actually do something exciting for once.
