Publisher's summary

The Lightwoods, the Shadowhunters who run the New York Institute, are expecting a new addition to their family: the orphaned son of their father’s friend, Jace Wayland. Alec and Isabelle aren’t too sure they want a new brother, and their parents are not assuaging their fears, too occupied with the dark news that Raphael Santiago, second-in-command of the New York vampire clan, has brought from the Shadow Market.

short but I love it

this was a very short story but I love the series I've read every single book and it's nice to get the little details between books/series.

To short

I liked the story line. It was basically like a short story series which is okay but I thought it would be a little longer than it was.

Cassandra Clare did it again!! I'm hooked...

This is a great story told from Jem's perspective, which is something I have been hoping for since I first read the Clockwork Angel. Inspired!

Will and Jem are my favorite ship/parabati pair. the bond/struggle of Zach to remain Jem. CC/SRB didn't disappoint. it's so nice to see a "behind the scene/prequel" loved it

get back into a great series

it was a great way to bring back old characters and tell a story that was a blast back to a time before it all. I always wondered how they all ended up together.

Sweet and poignant

It has been awhile since I've read the mortal instruments or infernal devices so it took a bit to remember all the history and characters. I do wish she had come out with these books sooner but the story line was fascinating and entertaining as always. excellent narrator and performance.

Toooo short

Wow that was quick. I didn’t realize it’s a short blerp. A bit disappointed. It’s ok though.

Hey bring Reilly Back for Narration!!

The narration alone has me listening to this short story repeatedly! I wish there were more books narrated by Reilly Dolman! I've always loved the character of Jem aka James Carstairs aka brother zachariah but this voice behind the character has me stuck. Great read with a glimpse in to the Mortal Instruments series not known before this.
