Publisher's Summary

I'm not who they think I am. A docile girl who meekly obeys her stepmother and stepsisters. Some kind of sick angel who cheerfully bears their mistreatment. That's what I want them to think. Because then they won't suspect what I'm really up to.

The ball, the prince - it's all part of my plan to come out on top. Stepmother and her demented daughters will pay for every floor I have scoured, every sneer I have borne. They don't know about the white magic, how I use it to enhance myself. They can't see that my heart is black as midnight, rotten as a poisoned apple.

They're about to find out.

A fun and dark version of a classic with a lesson

This was a very enjoyable listen. Short and fast paced, the story flew by to quickly. :) I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys the darker side of fairytales . Be wary of the wishes your heart makes.
The narrator was good ,if not quite what I'm used to,and added to the enjoyment of the story.

I may listen to more of this series, but it's a lot shorter than I like to spend my credits on.

Interesting twist

An interesting twist to a classic tale that makes you wonder about the "wonder" that is a certain company who has a tendency to turn light tales that are dark. Not saying I don't like such tales, but if you're looking for a tale that is more a long the lines of the original tales this is it. You will pity the characters. You will love them. You will hate them and you will wonder what would have happened had the other tales been like this one.
Well worth the read/listen. Caitlin does a very good job of telling the tale with just enough inflection to understand the feelings and changes in mood. Anita has done a splendid job on this retelling and in some ways inspired me to consider a darker side to other tales that I haven't thought about for some time now. :) good job.

Short but good

Surprisingly short and dark but I loved it! More of a brothers grim version a little more realish. I enjoyed it and plan to listen to the next one right away!

Interesting Twist on a Classic

Sinful Cinderella is quite a departure from the original story that is so known and loved. While the story was good and the characters were well-developed, I found myself having a hard time with the darkness in both Cinderella and the Prince. It wasn't particularly because of the moral issue at hand (especially the prince) but more because it was so disappointing that those characters had evil traits! I found Cinderella to be far too vain and narcissistic and the Prince was just unlikeable from his first word to her. I'm anxious to see where the author goes with the next book.

So that's what happened!

Walt Disney is spinning in his grave. This naughty Cinderella version twists other fairy tales into a continuous string.

Narrator: Ms. Kelly has a small, youngish voice, but with it, she brings forth a variety of characters. She handled this story very well.

Story line: It moved quickly bringing to the surface surprising aspects of traditional characters' personalities. I especially liked the mice.

Surprisingly good story!

I wasn"t expecting much from this story, but I was very interested from the beginning. This was story telling at it's best!

Fun Short Listen

This was definitely a dark Cinderella story. LOL it was fun a listen though.

Can't really say much about it or there will be spoilers, but everybody knows the Cinderella story this is just a darker different version.

As for the narration it was very good. My first time listening to this narrator and she was perfect for this book. She did a good job on all the different voices.
